Weekly Lower School activities

Please see below the activities available to your child on any given day. 

Weekly activities should be booked through the SchoolBase Parent Portal. Bookings for weekly activities will open at 17:00 for Years 3 to 5 on Friday 15 March 2024 and will be closed to parents at 12:00 on Monday 18 March 2024. Please note that activities are booked on a first-come, first-served basis and pupils will be added to waiting lists once an activity becomes fully booked. All weekly activities will commence in Week 2.  

 Monday

Exeter City Football Club

Year 3 and 4: 13:00 - 13:30
Year 5: 13:30-14:00

Led by Exeter City Football Club Community Trust, this is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to be coached by L2+ trained coaches who will deliver fun football sessions that are aimed to engage and inspire the next generation of footballers.
(shin pads are required)

This activity incurs a cost of £45 for the term (9 sessions).

Drama Club

16:15 - 16:50

Years 3 to 8

Led by visiting drama teacher, Seb Pope from 'Square Egg Drama', the children who join this club learn drama skills and play a variety of drama games. 

This activity incurs a cost of £48 for the term.

Mythology and Latin

16:15 - 16:50

Years 3 to 8

Led by Graham Milton, this club is a fun and engaging opportunity for our pupils to jump into the magical world of myths and legends, as well as learning the Latin language.

This activity incurs a cost of £45 for the term.

Future Schools Pre-test Prep

16:15 - 17:00

Year 5 

A prep session that will concentrate on practising skills needed Pre-tests required by some senior schools. This will include English and Maths skills, NVR and VR skills. This is led by Mrs Dunne and open to Year 5 only.

Swimming Club 

16:15 - 17:00

Years 3 to 5

Led by Miss Brooker with Miss Howick, Swimming Club will help students to work on their water confidence in a fun and encouraging environment. Games and activities will be incorporated to allow the children to explore different strokes and develop their own unique swimming style. 


Prep Club

16:15 - 18:00

Years 3 to 5

Led by teachers familiar to the children, pupils can remain after school to complete their prep.

Chamber Choir

16:15 - 17:00

Years 5 to 8

Conducted by our Director of Music, Mr Hoban, pupils can join this choir by invitation. 

 Tuesday

Martial Arts

Years 3 to 8

Run by local club 'Tiger Style Karate', the children in this club work towards learning martial arts' skills, whilst developing confidence and self-discipline. This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils of all abilities to involve themselves in.

This activity incurs a cost of £58.50 for the term.

Ballet

16:00 - 16:45

Years 3 to 5

(Grade 1)

Following the success of the introduction of Grade 1 Ballet at the school, we are very excited that Dorota Markham from the Woodbury Dance Company will be continuing her class for the Lower School children.

This activity incurs a cost of £79 for the term.

Inflatable Games 

16:15 - 16:50

Years 3 to 5

Led by Sporty Stars, this club is a fantastic opportunity for our younger pupils to engage in a multitude of different sports in a fun and encouraging environment.

This activity incurs a cost of £70 for the term.

Lego Club 

16:15 - 17:00

Years 3 to 5

Who doesn't love lego!? Led by Mr Friendship, lego club benefits those who need support with turn taking, sharing, joint problem solving, general communication and social communication skills. But most importantly, it's just great fun!


Running Club: Cubs

16:15 - 16:50

Years 5 to 8

Run by Mrs Hilton, this club is designed for pupils to learn the basics of running technique, including how to warm up properly, drills to improve gait and efficiency and exercises to improve running. Mrs Hilton is a qualified personal trainer with experience specifically looking at running techniques. 

This activity incurs a cost of £60 for the term.

Prep Club

16:15 - 18:00

Years 3 to 5

Led by teachers familiar to the children, pupils can remain after school to complete their prep. 

School Council

The council holds half-termly meetings to discuss school matters. 

Two pupils from each year group in the Lower School are elected to be a part of the School Council. 

 Wednesday 

Lower School Choir 

08:25 - 08:55

Years 3 to 5

Our Lower School Choir is a choir for all pupils in Years 3 to 5.  The choir practice weekly for various performances throughout the school year. 

No sign-up is required as all pupils are auto-enrolled.

Glow in the Dark Sports

16:15 - 16:50

Years 3 and 4

Sporty Stars are back once again this term with a much loved St Peter's classic, Glow in the Dark Sports. This is an exciting and safe activity that is guaranteed fun for all!

This activity incurs a cost of £70 for the term.

Sports Matches


Children in Year 5 usually have their sports matches with other local schools on a Wednesday afternoon. Please see the termly calendar for details.

Prep Club

16:05 - 18:00

Years 3 to 5

Led by teachers familiar to the children, pupils can remain after school to complete their prep.

 Thursday

Art Attack!

16:15 - 17:00

Years 3 to 5 (with Years 6 to 8)

Led by our wonderful Head of Art, Mrs Essling, Art Attack is an opportunity for our Lower School and Upper School to collaborate in fun art-based projects.

Swimming Lessons

17:00 - 18:00 

Led by Miss Brooker with Miss Cara, lessons will focus on building water confidence, introducing the basic strokes through a variety of fun activities and games, helping to get students prepped and ready for their summer holidays. 

Spaces are very limited on this and parents will need to pick up from the school pool promptly at the end of their child's swimming lesson. Pupils will be allocated a slot by Miss Brooker after interest has been shown.

This activity incurs a cost of £85 for the term (10 sessions). 

Sports Matches

Children in Years 3 and 4 usually have their sports matches with other local schools on a Thursday afternoon. Year 5 fixtures usually take place on Wednesdays.  Please see the termly calendar for details .

Prep Club

Led by teachers familiar to the children, pupils can remain after school to complete their prep.

Wind Band

16:15 - 17:00

The school Wind Band meet weekly to play as an ensemble. This band is for invited children from Years 3 to 8.

Friday

Chess Club

13:00 - 13:30

Years 3 to 5

This activity is led by Mr Parker. Pupils have the opportunity to learn the game of chess and play against their peers. 

Prep Club

16:05 - 18:00

Years 3 to 5

Led by teachers familiar to the children, pupils can remain after school to complete their prep.
