Notes from Mr. Zitz (updated 8/16/2021)

  • Good morning, St. Peter Families,

We have four volunteers for our weekly Covid testing for students on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We could use at least four more. If you can volunteer once per month, twice per month, every other week, etc., please let me know. We are putting the schedule together now. Please reply if you haven't already.

Thank you,

  • Good morning, St. Peter Families,

Attached is a letter explaining our fall fundraiser - Football Mania - that benefits our scholarship fund. Also included is a sample raffle ticket. Football Mania Ticket Letter 081321.docx Football Mania Ticket Sample.pdf

We are asking families to purchase or sell at least three tickets at $20 each. More are certainly available. Tickets may be obtained from the office, or purchases may be made online. If we don't see you before school starts, we will send them home the first week of school. All tickets should be sold and returned to school by September 10.

When you support our scholarship fund, you are helping other families obtain a Catholic education and giving to others who benefited as your family might have.

Thank you,

  • Good afternoon, St. Peter Families,

If you had difficulty with the registration link I sent in yesterday's e-mail, try this using this one to register your student for weekly Covid testing: Assure Covid-19 Testing - Affinity Empowering (affinitytesting.com). Scroll down to the registration area. Please let me know if this does not work.

Thank you,

  • Dear St. Peter Family,

We have chosen to participate in Operation Expanded Testing, a program supported and funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide weekly COVID-19 PCR testing for students at no cost. Participation in this program helps schools stay safer against the risk of COVID-19. Student participation is optional and requires parent consent.

In order for your student to be tested weekly by a team of trained parent volunteers at school, we need your consent. The attached letter includes a link to a registration site where you can give your consent and sign up to receive your student’s results. Parents and Guardians Letter for Schools.pdf If the link in the letter does not work for you, please use this link: Registration - Assure

We hope to begin weekly testing the first week of school in the gym on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. In order to accomplish this, we need parent volunteers (with background clearance) to participate in the 1.5 hours virtual training on either August 23 at 3:00 p.m. or August 24 at 10:00 a.m. The student population will be divided in half, with PreK to grade 4 being tested on Tuesdays and middle school being tested on Thursdays. If you can volunteer on either of these days - weekly, every other week, or monthly - please let me know as soon as possible. The time would be from 6:45 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Testing will run from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Please reply to this e-mail if you can volunteer. We also welcome the help of a parent or two to take the lead on this and coordinate scheduling and logistics – perhaps a Tuesday lead and a Thursday lead. Let me know if you are interested. If you want to help but have a conflict with training times, the training can be provided on other days as well.

I see this as an opportunity to keep our students safe and to offer some peace of mind for our families. Please consider volunteering for this important safety initiative.

Blessings,

Mr. Zitz

  • Good morning, St. Peter Families,

Attached is a letter from our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Louis De Angelo, regarding Covid-19 protocols for the 2021-2022 school year. Parent-Staff Letter_073021.pdf

At this point, decisions will not be made until the week of August 16.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you,

  • Good afternoon, St. Peter Family,

I hope you are having a great summer!

There will be a new family orientation on Thursday, August 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Crowley Hall. Crowley Hall is in the basement of our middle school building, and the entrance is on Harmony Street. If you are a new PreK family, there will be a “play date” for your student on Thursday, August 26. This meeting is separate from that one.

I will be providing some helpful information for new families. The meeting should not last longer than one hour. You will also have an opportunity to purchase gym shirts and patches for $7.50 and $5.00, respectively. We can accept cash, credit, or check. It would be helpful to let the office know your order before the meeting so we can have it ready in advance.

I am looking forward to seeing you on August 19.

  • Good morning, St. Peter Families,

I hope you are having a great summer!

Wednesday, August 11, is Saint Mark’s Night at Frawley Stadium. Any student in our school may attend the game that evening for FREE! Additionally, parent/adult tickets are only $5. The game is at 7:05 p.m.

Please use the following link to reserve seats: https://ttsu.me/spartan. The information required is name, e-mail address, number of free tickets needed, and number of paid tickets needed. All tickets may be picked up/paid for on game day at the stadium at the Will Call window.
