Log onto Google classroom
Open up state report slides.
Questions:
- No Weather, delete that title
- Geography lakes, rivers, mountains, etc
- Slide famous people, only one type of profession (ie one athlete, not two
- State map with cities. Most fixed that. arrows point to 5 cities.
- Timeline-earliest time is statehood.
- state symbols name of symbol and picture
- Spelling, capitalization.
- Transitions if time.
More research: go to my infohio link, click grades K-5, then Culturegrams - States. Everything but where the famous person is and their photo is there.

They know where the websites are. Go to my famous site: Hover over the very top “Home” and click the Grade 4 when it drops down.
Open up state report slides. They should work on
- Finish all of Slide 2 except skip landforms if they don’t get it (major landforms, lake, mountains, plains, etc) Slide 2 info is found on Website 1. On my site
- Slide 5 & 6 famous people, (2 slides with basic facts and 1 picture)
- Slide 4 Is a state map with cities. There is a good one on Website 4, when they find their state, click the map so it is bigger, and that’s what they copy.
- Slide 7-state symbols - my website #3 is the best.
- Don’t do 5 largest cities, they have plenty to do.

Somewhere on the north east corner of my metal cart next to my computer desk, is a pack of restaurant menus (Asian food). They already started this in Microsoft Word, NOT google classroom.

Most have it already set up and they just keep adding more food items. They do not have to have my exact food types, but do need to have the formatting and type of info. A small image, with the formatting “tight” will allow them to put it in the blank space.

If they really get stuck, have them save and close it, and email it to me and I’ll try to fix it and send it back. (I’m thinking Chase or Elijah) Hopefully they finish but it is a short class.

Before they leave, Ask a “techy” student to make sure your teacher computer has the black and white HDMI connected in the back, and not the black one. The black and white HDMI goes to the TVs. You can test it out with them.

Encourage them to use the computers, bigger screen. If they haven’t done that before, then they use their Chromebook. If you can’t use the TVs, they have the presentation in Classroom.

Lesson: Reading news online.

Teacher presentation-don’t show the answers until they do the worksheet on their own.
Show them the worksheet. They identify the parts of the news story by moving the arrows, and changing the arrow background color.
You have answers in your presentation, they don’t in theirs.
Turn in when done. (There might be an exit ticket, they can do that if I get it ready)

Take the kids over to the STEAM room Snapcircuits. Don’t let them just grab parts from another kit. There is a part count on the bottom of the box. They don’t get more than what is on the box. I was “taking” from box H if we were short.

3:00 Clean up and put back into box. Note: The INSIDE cover has a photo of what it looks like properly put back. Some things are stacked on top of each other so it is hard to see in the photo.

They shouldn’t just play the radio puzzle and nothing else!

Before they come in: Open Lower Grade Chrome for most the computers, see seating chart, open ABCMouse. It should say Diane Konyk's class.

Turn the computer volume up (left side of keyboard). Turn on the TVs by standing on the X on the floor near my chair. The back one just go up to it and aim.

When they arrive: Tell them you're going to review the video on digital balance we saw on Tuesday. (technology vs real life). Use this link, click HERE: Show them some situations that they should pay attention to when the song video starts. The song is on the last slide and you can play it there. IF for some reason it doesn't work, use this YOUTUBE

After the song, they can go into their ABCMouse account. They are the class of 2030. They should know that. I usually have them do the "path" until the last 5 then they can go to their pet/room/store.

All must bring their Chromebooks.

Students Go to Google Classroom, open the lesson, “Chromebook Check” This is an annual test, everyone should know how to do it except Ben. There are two videos they watch, then do an “exit ticket”.

#2 Digital Citizenship In A Nutshell

Lead them through the slides, up to you if you read it to them or let some of them read. Sometimes hard to hear them.

When the slides are done, there are questions / games they answer. I'll see the answers.

Then they can go back to what ever course they were on.

Take the kids over to the STEAM room toGet the iPads but come back to the lab, Tuesday we went over how to find them. They should know their numbers, if not, look on my seating chart or the class list chart, I have it on one of them. Also there’s a blue index card under my monitor that has them. The styluses are in a drawer with an Apple label on it, don’t remember exactly which one. They will probably find it faster. I don’t think I left it in the lab.

Open Sketchbook, new sketch.

Have them take a picture of themselves

The photo is added as the bottom layer

They add another layer on top and that’s where they will sketch.

Use their favorite brush to sketch an outline of their face. Have them give care to it!!! So don’t let them say they are done in 10 minutes.

They should ‘hide’ the image, and show you their progress. We’ll turn in next week.

I made a google classroom, but they probably don’t need it.
