Mother's Day Out location:
I feel very honored to introduce myself to you as the new Director of St. Paul’s MDO. I know everyone is anticipating the beginning of summer and hopefully looking forward our next school year as well. Like yourselves, I value St. Paul’s commitment to caring for your children every day.
I live in Columbia, IL with my husband Mike and our two children. In September, my daughter Alaina begins kindergarten. My son, Michael is 2 and he is a student in the purple room here at St. Paul’s MDO. I look forward to introducing my family to the many wonderful people that call this school “home” in the near future.
I went to college at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Shortly after college, I worked for Midwest Emergency Dept. Services, as the Director of Physician Recruitment for 13 years. After the birth of my daughter, my calling was to stay at home and to raise our family. In 2007, I started a non-profit organization called The P.E.G. Helpline to help those affected by domestic violence. I also volunteer in the 3-5 year old children’s room at my church, Christ United Methodist Church in Millstadt, IL.
I know that I have big shoes to fill with Ms. Jeana leaving, but I am honored to have been selected as the new Director. Enjoy your summer and I look forward to seeing you all in September.
I have been a 2 year old teacher at St. Pauls Mother’s Day Out since 2001. Before I taught at MDO, I was a stay-at-home Mom to my two children (now 22 and 25), who both attended MDO. I ran an in-home daycare for 9 years. I was a Girl Scout leader for 8 years. I am a member of St. Paul’s church. I enjoy crafting, sewing, and spending time with my family. I love getting to watch life through the eyes of 2 year olds, and helping them learn and explore new things.
I am blessed to be the mother of 4 fantastic kiddos! Previously, I was a 2nd grade teacher in Savannah, GA. I hold a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. I started teaching at MDO in 2014. Prior to being a formal teacher at MDO, I subbed and worked as the teacher’s assistant during the years my children attended classes here. I absolutely LOVE teaching the Pre-K class! It is so rewarding to see these young minds soak in all the knowledge they need to prepare to go off to Kindergarten the following year.
I have been married to my husband, Marc, for 21 years and we have three children: Nolan, Carson, and Allie Grace. I have an Elementary Education degree and teaching certificate. I taught kindergarten through eighth grade talented and gifted for ten years in Belleville. While living in Texas, I also started and was the director of a mother’s day out program very much like the St. Paul’s program. I had the privilege of subbing for Mrs. Jeannine in the red room in April and May of 2018 while she was out of the country. I loved the opportunity I had to teach those little ones at MDO!
In my free time, I love to do creative things like decorate & do small remodel projects, crochet, travel with my family, do yardwork, play piano, and watch my kids participate in their extracurricular activities. Winter is my favorite season! My family loves all things snow related!
I am very excited about being a full time teacher here at MDO and all the learning and fun we are going to experience together!
I have been teaching at Mother’s Day Out since 1988. I graduated from BAC/SWIC and worked in physical therapy for 20 years. After that, I ran an in- home daycare for many years. I have 3 sons: 31, 26, and 14. All three of my sons attended the MDO preschool program. I am very active with the youth programs at my church. I am a Nursery teacher, I’ve worked with VBS, Kindergarten story hour, and Play-N-Stay. I thoroughly enjoy teaching 2 year olds…watching them learn new skills and discover new things for the first time is truly a blessing.
I fell in love with the MDO program in 2008 when my eldest son was a student. Having a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and being a teacher myself, I had high expectations for a preschool program. MDO did not disappoint! Two more of my children have gone through the program since then and another will start as soon as she turns two. I taught 1st grade for several years until I decided to stay at home full-time. In 2012, I was offered a position in the 4’s classroom at MDO and taught for 3 years until I had my fourth and final baby. I took last year off to stay at home and am so thrilled to be back teaching the 4’s once again. One of my favorite quotes from C.S. Lewis states, “Children are NOT a distraction from more important work. They are THE MOST important work.”
For the previous three years, I have served as the Preschool Director of my home church. I have worked at preschools and before/after school programs for a number of years including planning age appropriate activities and events. In addition, I have served as a parent helper and sub at St. Paul. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Illinois State University. I am excited to be a part of the same preschool family where my mother taught many years ago. Both of my children have been in the program. Jordan completed all of her preschool years here. Asher will be in his 2nd year.
I have been involved with the Mother’s Day Out program for several years. I have two children who came through the program and during that time I worked in the classrooms as a permanent helper and a substitute teacher. I am so excited about joining the staff at Mother’s Day Out. I can’t wait to work with all the children and aid in their educational development during this crucial Pre-K year. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 10 years and we have two beautiful children. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, bike riding and all things outdoors.
I am excited to be the new 2-year-old teacher with the Mother’s Day Out program at St. Paul’s. Before taking this position I was the permanent helper with the 3-year-old classroom on Monday’s. For many years I worked in different preschools and daycares in the area while attending SWIC obtaining my Associates of Arts degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. I have been married to my husband, Brad, for almost 10 years and have 2 amazing children, Tristan (7) and Payton (3) who currently attends here. When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my family, watching movies and playing board games.
I have worked here for 8 years before taking last year off. I have been married for almost 21 years. We have two children, ages 18 and 16. Both them came through the MDO program and thrived. I am so thankful to be back and super excited to work with the 2 year olds.
