The main purpose for school computers and other devices used at school whether owned by the school or you are to support classroom learning and teaching.
This agreement sets out the main expectations for the use of computers, devices and related technologies within the school. Ensure you agree to comply with all the conditions contained within this document before you complete it.
I will not access material which can be considered offensive at school. I also agree not to pass on such material by emailing, electronic transfer (via phones, or other devices), copying, storing or printing it.
When using the internet during class time, I will only access those sites relating to the subjects being studied and understand that inappropriate sites are any sites not directly related to my courses at St. Paul’s.
I will not download programs/applications, games, music or video from the internet onto school owned computers without the consent of ICT staff.
If, for any reason, an inappropriate web site is accessed I will notify my supervising teacher or the IT staff immediately and exit the web site.
I am aware that all email, internet traffic, and files are being constantly monitored and will not attempt to circumvent the web filtering software in any way, including the use of ‘anonymous proxy’ websites, VPN's or Apps such as ‘Opendoor’. Doing so well have your internet access limited or banned.
In class I will only access the software needed to complete the tasks required for that subject.
I will treat all the equipment with the utmost care at all times and if problems arise I will seek help from my teacher or the computer support staff.
I will not move peripheral devices (mouse, keyboard, printer, etc.) from one machine to another, nor remove any hardware from any machine.
I will only use school software on school computers
I will only use my own login name and password and I will not give my login information to any other student. I will change my password if I believe it has been compromised.
If I come across a virus or security-related issue I will contact IT staff immediately.
I understand that access on the network servers is strictly forbidden to all students and I will not do anything that will cause disruption to the running of the computers or the network.
I will respect the right to privacy of other school users and I will not attempt to access the files of any other user on the school network.
In class I will not access a device without the permission of the teacher.
I understand that all material stored on these devices may be viewed and checked by senior staff and IT staff at any time.
I understand that I may not run any VPN software on my device on the school network. This also includes using of VPN's on student owned mobile devices such as cell phones.
I understand I will not use any devices to bypass school filtering. This includes using phones to hotspot mobile data to other students, or using a mobile data modem to share mobile data to other students.
Mobile phones are not to be used by students outside of the student centre or boarding house during school hours. (8.00 - 3.30).
Mobile phones must be places in the black box at the front of each class, and not accessed during class time without teacher permission.
I understand that breaching the above two rules will lead to my phone being confiscated, and handed in to the Headmaster.
I agree to all aspects of the Australasian Performing Rights Association (APRA) agreement (this document is also available in the Video Editing Suite) and will adhere to this agreement when using any audio or video material.
I will respect all copyright laws and record the source of any material downloaded for class work.
