ATTENDANCE
Being in class is imperative to your success. It can affect your class grade and performance on Flex Test at the end of the school year. If you are absent, it is up to you to find a time to meet with me to get instruction in order to complete the work done.
You will receive the same number of days you are absent to make-up the missed work. If you are absent the day of a quiz/test, you are given 1 week to make-up any assessments that are missed during that time.
HOMEWORK
Homework is your lifeline to success! You learn math by practicing it! Homework will be assigned nightly and is usually the first time opportunity. Students will be given a portion of class time, most days, to start working on their homework assignment. A portion of class time will be given the following day for questions on the homework.
Work must be shown regardless of your ability to calculate answers in your head. I need to see your understanding of our concepts this year.
NO LATE WORK IS ACCEPTED. Students need to turn in all assignments ON TIME in order to receive credit.
QUIZZES & TESTS
During the school year, there will be several major chapter tests and smaller quizzes to track your learning.
You will have either a quiz or a test each week. On each quiz, you will be asked to complete multiple problems (with all work shown) similar to classwork, homework assignments, and/or class activities. Most quizzes will be open note. If you don’t bring your notes to class, you will be responsible to take quiz without your materials.
You will have a chapter test for each chapter we cover this year. These will not be open note assessments.
If a student is absent the day of a quiz or test, they will have 1 week to make-up the assessment. Failure to make-up the assessment within the week will result in a zero.
