Hello and welcome to third grade!
My name is Renee Scurlock and I am one of the third grade teachers at St. Paul. I was born and raised in Columbus where I attended St. James the Less from 1st through 6th grade and attended St. Michael for 7th and 8th grade. I graduated from St. Francis De Sales High School and went on to receive a BS in Education from Ohio Dominican College (University).
I began teaching 3rd grade in the Catholic Diocese in 1996. I taught 3rd grade in the Diocese until 2022 when I transitioned into a new position, also at a Diocesan school, Director of Student Services. I enjoyed my new position but I really missed being in the classroom. I am very excited to be at St. Paul and to join a team of amazing 3rd grade teachers.
I have two children. Patrick attended St. Catharine, graduated from Bishop Hartley High School, and graduated from Ohio State University in 2023. He currently lives in Washington D.C. and works for the National Archives. Jake also attended St. Catharine, graduated from Bishop Hartley High School, and is currently attending Ohio University where is is majoring in broadcast journalism and sports management. He also works for OU Men's Basketball Team as a student manager.
In my spare time, love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy live music. I love sports. I am a big OSU, Steelers, Pirates, and OU fan. I also enjoy traveling.
I am very excited to you be your child's teacher. I am passionate about teaching 3rd grade. I look forward to working together to make sure all students grow in their faith and their academics. I also look forward to helping them become independent confident learners.
I look forward to working together to make this school year a success.
