I am a proud graduate of John Carroll University with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in English. While a student at John Carroll, I was also enrolled at Notre Dame college of Ohio earning a certification in Specific Learning Disabilities (K-12). I began my teaching career in the Willoughby Eastlake school system but once I married my husband Mike, we moved to St. Joseph, Michigan where I taught and received my Masters in Reading at Western Michigan University.
Mike and I are the proud parents of three children, all graduates of St. Paul and St. Francis DeSales High School. Our daughters went on to graduate from Xavier University and continue to reside in Cincinnati, and our son is a graduate from our alma mater, John Carroll University, and lives in Chicago.
After many years at home with our children, I returned to teaching at St. Matthew in Gahanna where I was an 8th grade and 5th grade teacher for 15 years. I am thrilled to join the staff at St. Paul, my home parish of 26 years, as a reading specialist and to give back to the community that had such a powerful, faith-filled and academic impact on my own children. I am excited to return to a focus on reading and support students as they build skills to be strong, life long readers.
