Hello, my name is Marcine Power. I started teaching at St. Paul School in 1987. I began with 3rd grade and over the years have taught in the 3rd through 8th grades. The majority of the years w with a math focus. I currently teach the 6th grade advanced math class. I emphasize effort, persistence, and a positive attitude toward challenges. I am also the math tutor for 4th and 5th grades. In tutoring I will provide support for the student struggling with math and enrichment for the students needing a challenge. I put a lot of effort into changing the mindset of the students who have a fear of math. It is my goal to help them appreciate and open their minds to the possibilities math has to offer. I strive to challenge my students to live up to their highest potential. The key to opening doors to wonderful opportunities in their future is a deep understanding of important math skills.
I earned my bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Bowling Green State University. Before coming to St. Paul School I taught in Wooster, Ohio for six years and one year at St. Brendan's in Hilliard.
When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I have a large extended family. My mother lives in the Orrville as do most of my seven siblings and their families. Many weekends you will find me travelling to spend time with them. When I am in town I enjoy dinner parties with friends and playing euchre and taking scenic bike rides.
Thank you for sharing your children with me. They enrich my life greatly.
