Hello my name is Eva Stordy. I graduated from Bemidji State University(a university in northern Minnesota) with my Bachelors degree in elementary education with an early childhood endorsement. I began my teaching degree in 2018. I began teaching at Saint Paul School in 2022. I taught first grade for 4 years in Minnesota. I currently teach fifth grade language arts and social studies!
I live in Westerville. I married my husband in June of 2022 and moved from Minnesota to Ohio shortly after. I enjoy cooking, baking and being outdoors(especially being at the beach). In my spare time I appreciate spending time with my family; whether with my parents in Minnesota, my brother and his family in Michigan or my husband's family in Indiana!
This year in language arts your child will develop their writing skills through writing a variety of topics; informative, opinion/argumentative and narrative. Students will analyze stories in depth through novel studies and strengthen their reading skills by participating in small group discussions geared towards their reading abilities. Your child will complete a variety of projects related to the various literary elements.
This year in social studies your child will be examining the Western Hemisphere and the different early civilizations that settled in that area. Students will strengthen their map skills and identify elements that are necessary in certain regions of the United States as well as the rest of the Western Hemisphere. They will grasp an understanding of economic decision making, different government styles and financial literacy as it pertains to a city.
Fifth grade is a transformative year! Your fifth grader will gain independence, a greater sense who they are, and grow in a deep love of their faith. There are many things to look forward to this year.
I am profoundly blessed and excited to be a part of your child's education at St. Paul School.
