Hello, my name is Barb Mathews and I am part of the third grade team at St. Paul's. I am so blessed to be here and I look forward to getting to know all the many faces of St. Paul's School.
I grew up in Columbus and attended St. Anthony's, DeSales, and then went to Ohio Dominican College (University). I first taught at St. Matthias in Columbus for 9 years. I taught 4th and 1st grades. I then taught at Blessed Sacrament in Newark, Oh for the past 17 years teaching 2nd grade. I also taught CCD, 2nd grade for 29 years at St. Matthias.
Between those two time frames I stayed home and raised my now grown 4 children. Katie (Patrick) works at the University of Dayton as their Campus Minister, Kyle (Elana has a history degree and is an underwriter for an insurance agency, Krista (Colin) is a school social worker for Westerville City School and is at Genoa Middle School, and my youngest Klaire works at the University of Dayton in Resident Life. I have 1 granddaughter, Frances (Frannie) who turned 3 years old in June. I love spending time with my children and their spouses and Frannie.
I feel so blessed to be part of the St Paul's community. I am grateful to be teaching in such a great environment. I love teaching and sharing my faith to young people.
