Letter from Principal Páez

Hello Riverview families,

Welcome back to school! It is so great to communicate with you even though COVID-19 is affecting each of us in many ways. I hope that you are managing these circumstances well and most importantly, that you and your children are healthy. See a welcome back video from me to families and students.

I appreciate all the teachers and staff at Riverview so much for creating positive learning experiences for students to continue academic growth. Please know that what’s most important on our minds is establishing meaningful ways for your child to feel connected with the classroom community. We want to remind them that the adults at school care about them and are here to help their development as students and people.

I invite each of you to visit the new Distance Learning at Riverview website to learn about Riverview’s model, the weekly schedule, what to expect on the Day 1 and other important information. This website will be evolving and new information will be added as we go.

Attendance

Please call your child's teacher or the attendance line at 651-744-5993 if your student will be absent for a portion or all of a distance learning day. Students may complete the “Morning Welcome” activity any time during the day for attendance until midnight.

Check in phone call

You'll receive a call from one of the staff on Monday to see how things are going. The call might come a phone number that is private or from out of state. Please try to answer. We’d love to connect with every single family! I will also be calling each family over the next few weeks.

Families First

We understand that families may experience hardships that prevent students from completing assignments. These may include illness, technology issues or other family issues and your child will not be penalized for that. Please talk to your child’s teacher for support. And like always, feel free to call me or email me as well. We are here to help first and foremost.
