Morning Welcome - This task is required and is used for taking attendance for your child. If you are not able to connect online to the activity, please email your child's teacher.
Learning Activities - The activities will be posted on Seesaw or Schoology for your child to see by 9:30a every day. Your child's teacher will also send you information about the day.
Routines - Math and Literacy activities will focus on helping students set up their learning routines.
Starting slow - Other teachers will start to send your child activities too as the week goes by. Support staff like social workers, paraprofessionals may also connect with your child.
Check in phone call - You'll receive a call from one of the staff to see how things are going. The call might come a phone number that is private or from out of state, possibly from New York.

Teachers will communicate with families on Seesaw regularly and share activities.
Distance Learning for this grade level relies on the interaction between children, caregivers and carefully chosen materials.
Teachers will provide resources for up to 2.5 hours of daily instruction via Seesaw.
Families will connect with the teacher through Seesaw, Google Meet or other method.

The time students will typically spend online during a school day is 1-2 hours total.

Teachers will give deadlines for daily assignments. Not all assignments will need to be turned in.
Students have until midnight to complete the "Morning Welcome" activity to count towards their attendance for that day.
Students will have the opportunity to engage with their teachers through Seesaw, view web-based lessons and have video meet-ups on Google Meet with teachers and their classmates.
