How to Draw an Easter Daffodil

April 6 -10
I hope this Holy Week finds you healthy and well. Please keep sending me photos of your artists and their decorated sketchbook covers, Halloween Carnival T-Shirt pictures, or any other creative artwork they may have made. I love seeing what everyone is doing!
I miss teaching the children art in person, but I've created a new video for our third art activity titled: How to Draw an Easter Daffodil. You and your child can follow along with me and draw your daffodil on the first page in your sketchbook (not the back side of the cover). I've taught the children to draw on one side of their paper, because markers and paint can go through to the other side and mess up their picture, but you may have to remind them. I've also attached a daffodil coloring page that you can print. I hope you enjoy the video; just click on the link below.
I have disabled the comments section to ensure that my channel remains kid friendly. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me. I hope you all have a Happy Easter. Love and miss you!
K3 & K4
tape your daffodil drawing to a window, tape your child's paper to the window on top of yours, allow your child to trace the outlines, remove their picture so they can add color to their shapes (skills: tracing, identifying shapes, coloring neatly, fine motor, focus, patience)
use your imagination to draw & color your own flower
draw a flower from real life or from your yard
try growing a daffodil from a seed in a pot
read facts about daffodils: https://kids.kiddle.co/Narcissus_(genus)

read the poem by William Wordsworth and draw a picture about it: I wandered lonely as a Cloud
wandered lonely as a Cloud
That floats on high o'er Vales and Hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd
A host of dancing Daffodils;
Along the Lake, beneath the trees,
Ten thousand dancing in the breeze.
The waves beside them danced, but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee: –
A poet could not but be gay
In such a laughing company:
I gaz'd – and gaz'd – but little thought
What wealth the shew to me had brought:
For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude,
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the Daffodils.
William Wordsworth (1804 version)
