Summer is a time to relax and have fun. It’s also a great time to work on math concepts and problem solving skills.
This summer to help promote the retention of basic math facts and to review concepts learned throughout the school year, students are encouraged to use Freckle Math 20-30 minutes daily.
Math is everywhere! Reading, playing cards or board games, baking or cooking are a few ways students can engage in math all summer long. Practice math skills as a family.
Reviewing important math skills doesn’t have to be boring, time-consuming, or expensive! Use items you already have on hand, grab some books or make up fun games to play outside to encourage young learners to keep thinking and problem solving all summer long!
Freckle is an online adaptive Math and Reading program that provides students with a personalized learning pathway. Your students can practice math and reading skills at their own learning level. Freckle helps students review and master skills they have learned this year, preparing them for next year.
Freckle is adaptative. Students should work on the problems independently. Resist the eager to help. If students are provided with help or answers, this will make the program adapt and students will be assigned more challenging problems.
Use Freckle for 20-30 minutes daily for Fact Practice and/or Adaptive Math.
Make it a daily habit.
Work independently.
Use paper and pencil to work out problems.
