What to Expect

• Each organization we partner with will dedicate a point-person who will be in charge of coordinating appointments for participants. 

• Use the flyers and language on this platform to help you conduct outreach and invite potential participants.

• We will email you the link to our advance calendar so that you can book appointments before they go public. It is very important that you enter contact information for BOTH participants, so that we can contact participants to confirm and provide details about their appointments.

• Once you've booked appointments for your participants, our Mobile Team will contact each participant to talk through the StoryCorps recording process, give them details about location and parking, and answer any questions they may have. As the coordinator of these appointments, we encourage you to provide your participants with as many details as possible. You can find additional materials in our "Participant Engagement" section.

• Participants are welcome to talk about the organizations who coordinated their appointment, but they do not have to. Participants can talk about anything they would like to during their 40-minute recording. Many participants find it meaningful to discuss an experience they went through or talk about how they might know their partner. We don't look for anything specific in a recording; this is a chance for participants to talk about something important or meaningful to them that they would like to document. Our best recordings are those that are meaningful for conversation partners.

• Una vez que haya reservado citas para sus participantes, nuestro equipo se comunicará con cada participante para hablar sobre el proceso de grabación, proporcionar detalles sobre la ubicación y estacionamiento, y aclarar cualquier duda. • Los participantes pueden hablar sobre su organización, pero no es obligatorio. Pueden conversar sobre lo que quieran durante su grabación de cuarenta minutos. A muchos participantes les resuelta significativo hablar sobre sus experiencias personales o cómo conocieron a su compañero. No buscamos ningún tema específico en una grabación; esta es una oportunidad para que los participantes conversen sobre algo significativo para ellos que les gustaría documentar. Las mejores grabaciones son aquellas que son significativas para los compañeros de conversación.
