Careers and Next Steps

At Stopsley High School, our vision is simple:

“Every student leaves equipped with the knowledge, skills, character and ambition required to make a success of their future”.

Good careers education is fundamental in supporting young people to make appropriate and informed decisions at key transitional stages and in doing so; it provides them with the foundation to go on to successfully contribute to the future society and economy.

We recognise having a stable careers programme that provides a range of opportunities, is crucial to enhance students skill set and their understanding of the expectations within the working world. We will ensure students are supported in making well-informed decisions by providing access to differentiated, impartial and independent information and guidance about the range of options (including academic, vocational, apprenticeships) available and that their goals and aspirations are reflective of their talents, abilities, needs and interests. In providing high-quality Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG), we aim to challenge and inspire our students to be ambitious and have high aspirations for their futures.

Stopsley High School is also a part of the Luton Careers Hub which has been established by the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) in partnership with Luton Council, South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) and Central Bedfordshire Council.
