We are collaborating with the Campus Beautification Committee for our Crane-a-thon! This is the first event of our annual 'Cranes for a Cause' initiative during the month of March. Help us fold 1,000 origami cranes for our new Wang Center community art installation (designed by Ellie Lu).

Tonight, we are collaborating with USG for their Mental Health Gala. Write an accomplishment on a piece of origami paper and fold it into a flower! Models include lilies, roses, and lotuses. We'll be in SAC Ballroom A from 7-8pm.
On Saturday (4/6/24), we're collaborating with SEA and 3DPATH for a Bracelets and Brownies event! Create your own jewelry with 3D printer pens and origami charms. Free brownies will be provided as well! Join us in SAC Ballroom A from 7-9pm.
This Friday (4/12/24), we're having a Kinetic Origami GBM. This meeting is in collaboration with BMES and VIP BEAR. Fold origami lilies and cranes, and then make them move with strings, beads and motors. These models will contribute to our new art installation in the Javits Center!
This Friday (5/3/24), we're tabling at SEA's and USG's Sunset Market. Send origami boats/lanterns with messages and LED lights down the brook! We'll be at the Fine Arts Loop (between Wang & Admin) from 3:30-4:30pm.
2/2 Traditionals: We're having our first GBM of the semester: Traditional Origami! Fold cranes, cicadas, frogs, and many more of these classic models.
2/9 Freestyle: (SAC 304) We're having a Freestyle GBM. During these GBMs, members can fold whatever model they want with no set theme. NOTE: We are not in our usual room this week!
2/2 Modulars: Modulars are made by folding multiple units and then assembling them together. Examples include ninja stars, Sonobe units, PHiZZ units, and a snake!
2/23 Freestyle: During these GBMs, members can fold whatever model they want with no set theme. We will provide diagrams, books, and even specialty paper!
3/1 Finger Puppets: Learn how to fold little animals, flowers, and characters that fit on top of your fingers.
3/8 Parkinson's Pals: We will be folding cranes, tulips, and lilies for those living with Parkinson's, in collaboration with Parkinson's Pals! They will be donated to local charities towards the end of the semester.
3/23 Papermaking: Make your own paper by layering tissue paper and aluminum foil, and applying methyl cellulose! Supplies will be provided.
3/29 BMC Cranes Collab: (SAC 226 5-6pm; SAC 305 6-7pm) We're having a collaboration with Buddhist Meditation Club. This is also a part of our Cranes for a Cause initiative. Take part in a group meditation and practice mindfulness by folding cranes!
4/5 Suncatchers: Suncatchers are made from folding eight modules with translucent kite paper, assembling, and then holding them up to light. They look especially nice on windows with sunlight!

NOTE: Our Star Jars supplies have arrived and will be available this GBM! Also, our elections are being held at this GBM. If you are running for an e-board position, please be sure to attend.
5/3 Giant Origami: (Roth Cafe 121) Fold with large sheets of kraft paper and make giant models. This is our last GBM of the year!
Fall 2023
Stop by to get to know OSBU and fold your own Wolfie!
On Saturday (9/9/23), we're tabling at Wolfieland. Wolfieland will be held at the SAC Parking Lot (Lot 12 and 13), and we'll be there from 4-7pm. Feel free to stop by and fold a Wolfie!
From 4-5pm, we will be tabling at Student Engagement and Activities's Pumpkin Patch X Craft Factory event. The event is held outdoors at the SAC Plaza, and will have a variety of activities, including pumpkin painting. Feel free to stop by to fold autumn-themed origami with us!
Lastly, on Saturday (10/14/23), we'll be tabling at CommUniversity Day! The event runs from 12-4pm in the Wang Center. Admission is free and open to the public. (Previous date was cancelled and rescheduled for this Saturday)
This Friday (10/27/23), we're collaborating with SEA for their HalloSTEAM Workshop! Create a light-up cap, music cloud, or origami bouquet by programming an Adafruit circuit board. Be sure to bring your laptop. Join us in the Union Ballroom from 8-10pm.
Next Tuesday (11/7/23), we're collaborating with Pre-Veterinary Society for an Animal Origami event! Fold a variety of animals like cats, dogs, rabbits, and frogs. We'll be in SAC 304 from 7-8pm. NOTE: This is not our usual room or time.
Tonight (11/8/23), we're collaborating with USG, Art Club, and Comic Book Club for USG Craft Night. Choose from a variety of crafting projects such as watercolor painting, clay modeling, and of course, origami! Join us in SAC Ballroom B from 7-9pm.
We're collaborating with Audubon Society for an Avian Origami Night! Stop by SAC 304 from 8-9pm to fold various birds.

This Friday (2/24/23) in SAC 305 from 6-7pm, we'll be collaborating with the Crew Club for our Boat Competition.
The boat that can hold the most weight before sinking wins! You can bring your own folded boat or fold one during the event.
Boats can be folded from any material.
We are excited to announce our annual Cranes for a Cause Initiative! In traditional Japanese folklore, folding a thousand origami cranes is said to grant a wish. Nowadays, it is associated with recovery, hope, and peace. Throughout March, we will be collecting cranes to donate to charitable organizations, such as Cranes for Cancer and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Cranes can be folded from 3 inch or 6 inch paper of any solid color or pattern. You can drop off your cranes at any of our GBMs (exact dates are listed on the poster below). With your help, we hope to surpass our previous year's count!

3/24 Crane-a-thon: We'll be hosting a Crane-a-thon for our Cranes for a Cause Initiative! Help us fold cranes for our Pride Flag installation in Wang Center. For this event, we're collaborating with AAPI Mentorship Network and Project Sunshine. We'll be in SAC 305 from 6-8PM. Please note that this event is 2 hours, rather than our usual 1 hour. We hope to see you there. There will be raffle prizes!
