Melanie Karniewich, Journalist

I am a Stony Brook University graduate with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a minor in Film and Screen Studies. I was involved in on-campus publications such as Her Campus at Stony Brook and Stony Brook Young Investigators Review. Previously, I held a two-year-long internship with the Stony Brook Career Center as a Senior Communications Intern.

Since graduating, I am interested in journalism, communications, and public relations. Beyond my academics and professional experiences, storytelling is my biggest passion in my writing, what I read from others, and how I hope to make a difference. Currently, I am a Foreign Reporter for the Marie Colvin Center for International Reporting, working on multiple stories after traveling to Sweden to report on gender equality.
