High Pressure Ultrasonic Lab

Dr. Baosheng Li's Ultrasonic Lab  (a.k.a. "Club Li") has pioneered the techniques for acoustic velocity measurement in multi-anvil high pressure apparatus that are currently in use at many labs and synchrotron beamlines. In the High Pressure Laboratory at Stony Brook University, sound velocity measurements can be made in two multi-anvil presses at pressures up to 28 GPa. Currently, our research is focused on the sound velocity measurements on Earth materials and critical minerals using both polycrystalline and single crystal samples.

More information regarding the ultrasonics measurements can be found in our publications
