Research Description
My research focuses on the understanding of structural behavior and physical properties of materials under extreme pressure and temperature conditions using high pressure experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Materials currently under investigations span from critical minerals that are vital for modern technologies, economies, and national security, to Earth minerals that are crucial for understanding the composition and physical processes of the Earth’s deep interior.
