Harmony is when you have more than one pitch sounding at a time.
A chord is a specific set of notes performed simultaneously.
The term tonic in music refers to the first note of the scale (most commonly "Do" in solfege syllables). Dominant refers to the fifth note of the scale ("So" or "Sol" in solfege). Tonic and dominant chords built from these notes and are the basis of traditional western European harmony.

Practice playing each chord with one hand a time. Try switching back and forth between the two while moving your hands as little as possible.
