Board Role Descriptions

Lead role in charge of all Stonewall Boston events. As a director-level position, this role has a 2-year term.

• Envision, design, and implement events hosted by Stonewall Boston

• Manages the work of the Events Coordinator

Supports the Director of Events. This person may own/coordinate their own events or, for larger events, they work hand-in-hand with the Events Director.

Ensure Stonewall Sports Boston is a safe environment for our players.

• Coordinates first aid teams for applicable sports

• Manages first aid supply inventory

• May weigh in on rule changes to better protect the safety of our players

Sports Coordinators are responsible for running the best league possible for their sport. The league coordinators are the head people in charge of the sport and are involved in planning and running logistics on game days.

• Face of the league for captains and players

• Determine dates of league and other logistics (with support from the Commissioner and Director of Operations)

• Full comprehension of the rules of their sport and update those rules to align with the mission of Stonewall Sports Boston

• Coordinate setup, tear down, and other game-day logistics

• Dodgeball

• Kickball

• Pickleball

• Volleyball (1 open seat)

Ensures a diverse group of voices is included in decision-making for Stonewall Sports Boston. At-large board members are not tasked with specific responsibilities beyond making their voices heard at board meetings. At-large members may choose to take on additional responsibilities as they see fit.

The commissioner sets the direction and vision of Stonewall Sports Boston. This person is the face of the organization and is highly engaged with participants and external organizations. The commissioner is the highest-ranking office in the organization.

• Outlines a vision for the organization and for each league before planning a season.

• Represent the organization in an official capacity where appropriate.

• Serve as the only official legal representative of the organization, and shall execute all contracts, permits, and other documents with legal significance.

Lead role in all of Stonewall Sports Boston’s Marketing and Communications. Ensures that the greater Stonewall Boston community is up to date with all current news including league dates, registration announcements, and outcomes of some sporting events. The Marketing Director develops a brand voice and work to have all communications from the organization match that voice.

• Write and distribute a monthly newsletter

• Manages the work of the Web Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator

Marketing coordinators support the work of the Director of Marketing by taking ownership of a single form of communication.

• The Social Media Coordinator designs social media posts.

• The Website Coordinator owns all the content on the official website and Discord.
