Stonewall started as a way for me to meet people I never would otherwise and bond us. Smalltalk and friend-making as an adult is hard, and Stonewall gives you a place to start!

As Commissioner I have an opportunity to help take what I love about this league and build an even bigger tent to welcome more people and provide them their version of my experience.

When Stonewall is thriving in 10 years and there's a whole new crop of faces from all across the LGBTQ+ community, I'll know I've been successful.

I'm Bruce, I've been playing in Stonewall Sports since it got rebooted in 2022! I joined the board first as Head Umpire, then Volleyball Coordinator, and finally now I'm the Operations Director.  My goal is to help Stonewall Sports Boston run so smoothly that folks can't even tell that it's a completely volunteer run organization.  My biggest hope is that we can provide a place where anyone within the LGBTQ+ community can find their people and broaden their community!

Hey! I'm Chris. I've been involved with Stonewall Sports since playing kickball in Fall 2022.  I'm excited to be serving as our Finance Director to ensure that we are using our funding effectively to provide a great experience for all of our members while maintaining our registration fees at affordable prices. As our organization continues to grow, I'm excited to play a role in guiding our fundraising from our amazing sponsors and our charitable giving to local community organizations.

Growing up, I didn't feel like sports had a place for me. Then, fast forward to my adult life, I discovered a friend of mine was captaining a kickball team and I decided I wanted to try something new, surrounded by other queer people who possibly had similar experiences to mine. The rest is history -- in a few short weeks I developed connections with so many new people who were part of Stonewall and I'm so grateful for these experiences! I want to help Stonewall grow and help others meet new people and find new friends!

I'm Nat and I was born and raised in Trinidad! I am a proud, queer, immigrant of color and I have always found connection, joy, and belonging in sports! Stonewall has really helped me establish a community here in Boston and has given me the opportunity to re-ignite my love for team sports with a group of incredible people who I share identity and lived experiences with. I hope that I can channel my passion for diversity, equity and inclusion into establishing a warm and welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable, valued and embraced.

I am a Sagittarius sun and moon with a Scorpio rising--I don't know what that means, but I am sure you do.

I grew up NH and have lived in Somerville for the past 7 years. I love to spend time with my friends and community. I enjoy doing yoga, hiking, skiing. I have worked in museums and love exploring ones all around Boston. I have played kickball the past four seasons and what has been the most fun is the community I have joined because of that. I have found Stonewall to be an incredibly supportive, welcoming and now important part of my life.

Fun Fact: My family makes maple syrup from our farm!

My brother convinced me to join. I've had a blast playing and hanging out. The laid back atmosphere is perfect for me. It's been such a great opportunity to meet people.

I love the accepting community that Stonewall brings. I joined the league this past year scared and not knowing a single person; I was extremely nervous to even go to my first game because I haven’t played in so long. Everyone was super inviting, and it made me feel excited each week to be around my team.

Fun Fact: I run a friend matchmaking group for people in their 20's-30's in Boston to help with post-college loneliness!

My name is Ashlee (she/her), and I've been with Stonewall Sports since the first kickball season back in 2021. Since then, I've also captained the UHaullyballs for Stonewall's two inaugural volleyball seasons last year, and I'm thrilled to get even further involved as SSB's Community Engagement Coordinator!

Personally, I am an animal lover (with two sweet bb kittens of my own), an avid reader (catch me on Goodreads or Storygraph), and a Swiftie (will sell my soul for a ticket).

Stonewall is uniquely positioned as not only an awesome social league but also a nonprofit, and I am looking forward to our growth as a queer community both as friends and as intentional, active, and visible members of the greater Boston community. My name is Chawney (she/her). I joined the Stonewall Sports community as captain of Slay Pitches (kickball) in the Spring 2023 season. I love Stonewall because it’s such a welcoming and inclusive community and I’ve met so many incredible people through the sports teams and events.   I’m an event supervisor at New Balance. And I’m working towards my Masters degree in Project Management at Brandeis. I love going out with friends, traveling, bike rides, and of course playing kickball and volleyball with Stonewall!

Fun Fact: I have a 12yo German Sheperd named Sloan - he’s the best!

From getting sweaty and cheering out on the field to covering myself in glitter and going out with my team, Stonewall Sports has given me a space where I can truly do it all. I am so grateful for this inclusive community where I can bring my authentic self and feel at home in Boston. As your Events Coordinator, it’s time for me to give back and plan a calendar of events so exciting that even your cat will have FOMO.

Fun Fact: I love going to concerts, my first one was Hillary Duff in 2003!

Competition. Community. Compassion. One might say Stonewall Sports Boston (SSB) has bucket-loads of "Com-", which is what I like best about SSB! =D I also love how uniquely "kinesiodivergent" this queer sports league can be, allowing a nearly full spectrum of abilities to play, to be active, and for each of us to (re)connect with our bodies. Beyond that internal connection, I love how SSB allows for external connections with members and allies of the queer community. Thus, my main goal for SSB is simply for its participants to say "We're going to need bigger buckets!"

Fun Fact: Was all in for "Cogito Ergo Sum" until "Amo Ergo Sum" came along.

Stonewall is one of the most supportive and welcoming communities I have ever been a part of. I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of it, but also to spread the joy & love to new members as well!

I started with Stonewall about a year ago and never thought that in less than a year I'd have participated in 7 seasons of 5 different sports, let alone joining the Board.

After living in the Boston area for nearly 10 years, Stonewall has provided me a core group of people I can truly be myself around. The sense of community and commitment to diversity and authenticity makes for an organization that really has just given me a family.

My hope is to be able to give back and provide the opportunity for others to have a positive experience and find their people like I have.

Hi Everyone! I’m Danielle (she/her), and have been involved with Stonewall Sports Boston for about 2 years. Stonewall has been an amazing opportunity to build community and friendships, and to be active and make sports fun and not full of pressure - especially for someone not super athletically inclined like yours truly!! My time with Stonewall has been more than I could have anticipated, and I am excited to begin this new journey as one of your Dodgeball Coordinators and continue bringing the joy and engagement I have found to others!

Listen: if a weirdo queerdo like me can not only enjoy playing sports (something they NEVER thought they would do) but also take on a leadership position? Then there's something pretty damned special about this league! 

As an organizer, I want to help set the conditions for individuals and teams to develop their own identities as sports-playing queerdos, and I plan to do that one rhinestoned team shirt at a time.

Hi everyone! I'm Alex, and I've been involved with Stonewall Sports Boston since 2021. I started by joining a kickball team, and after having so much fun each season, I quickly joined the dodgeball and volleyball leagues. I have also been an umpire for kickball, and a captain of a kickball and a volleyball team. My husband and I also sponsor the league through our small business Mystic Valley Salon.  

What I love about Stonewall is what it does to bring the community together. Stonewall creates a space where people of all backgrounds can meet in a safe environment doing something they enjoy. Speaking from my own experience, I have met so many amazing individuals as a member of this organization, people who I now call friends. I hope to continue fostering the supportive and positive atmosphere that Stonewall provides. Come find me on or off the field and say hello!

Fun Fact: As a certified diver, I love diving shipwrecks. I once dove 100 ft underwater to swim around the bow of a sunken ship.

I joined Stonewall Sports Boston in the Fall of 2023 by signing up to play kickball… and it was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve made! Even playing just one season, I have already met so many incredible people and made more friends than I could even have imagined! I’m so excited to have the opportunity to contribute to a league that has brought so much joy into my life in just a few months. And I look forward to being a part of this organization for as long as possible!

Fun Fact: My first (and only) experience driving a stick shift vehicle was on a school bus that had its roof cut off!

For me, Stonewall has provided a space to be inspired by other queer folks. I truly feel so incredibly lucky to be a part of the teams I have been on and also a member of Stonewall Sports as a whole. I grew up being an athlete and since graduating college in New York have been looking for a queer community in Boston. I am SO thankful to have found this specific community :). My major goal as a Stonewall organizer is to continue to both diversify our Stonewall community as well as protect and respect all of the folks who currently make up Stonewall Boston.

I've been a part of LGBT+ inclusive sports for over a decade and am thankful for the community it has brought that I haven't found in other queer spaces. That extends to Stonewall where as head umpire I hope to support that environment with officials who feel knowledgeable in the rules and supported as well as players who are confident that games will be decided fairly based solely on how the game is played.
