This year, we are excited to expand our sports portfolio to include coaching opportunities in Football, Rugby, Volleyball, Hockey, Basketball, and Netball. The cost for coaching will be around $70-$90 per term, per sport. Students must commit to attending their training session in their chosen sport each week.
The sporting opportunities at Stonefields School provide all students with a variety of sports to participate in, develop skills and achieve personal success. We are constantly working to do this in an environment that has a healthy balance between participation and competition.
Stonefields school, along with 14 other local schools, comprises the Tamaki Cluster. There are several sports events each term which our learners have the opportunity to participate in. Each event is open to different ages, usually Years 5-8, but one event per term is extended to Years 3-4. Our Tamaki Cluster events welcome all skill levels from beginners to experienced. It's a great way to try a new sport so come sign up and give a new sport, or your favourite sport a try.
Our school is also part of the Eastern Zones Cluster. These events provide our Intermediate learners with the opportunity to compete at a more advanced level, against a wide range of schools in East Auckland, and can lead on to Auckland wide Inter-Zone Finals.
The Zespri AIMS Games is the largest sporting competiton in the country with Intermediate (Year 7-8) aged kids compete in individual and team events across 27 sporting codes. For the last few year, Stonefields has participated in Netball, Football, Futsal, Badminton, and Swimming.
When representing the school at sports events, learners are expected to wear the Stonefields Sports Uniform, which includes.
Sports Top
Sports shorts or skirt
Netball dress (bespoke order)
Basketball singlet (bespoke order)
School Cap (highly encouraged)
Items can be purchased through the online uniform shop. Limited second-hand stock is available via our Pre-Loved Uniform requests.
In 2026, we introduced a new sports uniform. There will be a phase-out period for the old sports shirt during which it is still acceptable to wear the old shirt.
This is the Code of Fair Play that our ākonga (learners) have created. It expresses what we value and what we expect when representing our school community at Sports Events.
Please ensure you familiarise yourself with these expectations. We are extremely proud of the way our ākonga conduct themselves when representing our school and thank you for your ongoing support in this area.
There are also loads of on-site after-school activities offered by external providers, including football, basketball, rippa rugby, and skateboarding. See our Community Noticeboard for more details.
We are fortunate to have a wealth of sports clubs in our local area delivering a variety of sports offerings. Check out our Local Clubs page for a list.
