I attended the University of Minnesota (UMN) - Twin Cities where I got my Bachelor of Arts (BA) and majored in History. After I got my Masters (MA) at the UMN - Twin Cities in Multicultural College Teaching and Learning.
I enjoy learning new things, exploring new places, and hanging out with family, brothers, and friends. I am part of a Latino-based fraternity called Sigma Lambda Beta. One way I hang out with them is by having large cookouts at my house. I also enjoy hanging out with my kids by playing outside, playing games (board and video), and watching movies. Especially the Marvel and DC movies!
As the new Director of TRIO ETS, a first-generation college student, and a former TRIO ETS student, I am most excited to work with this great team and the next generation of TRIO ETS students!

I went to the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where I got my BA (Bachelor of Arts) and I majored in Women’s and Gender studies and I minored in Political Science! In college I worked at our Student Success Center as a per mentor to first year college students where my passion for higher education, advising, and working with students began.
I have been a TRIO ETS Academic Advisor since January of 2020.
Some of my favorite things to do are playing Yahtzee, Catan, downhill skiing, swimming, climbing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends!

I attended Saint John's University where I majored in Asian Studies and minored in Computer Science. During my time college, I worked in the study abroad office and also worked with exchange students who came from different countries.
In my free time I like to keep myself busy with activities. I really enjoy spending my time outdoors and staying active. With that said, I am usually lifting weights, playing volleyball, fishing, camping or doing something with family and friends!
As an Academic Advisor for ETS, I am excited to help motivate students with my team to continue their education and pursue their dreams.

Hello! My name is Kali Hickman (she/they) and I am elated to be a part of the TRIO ETS team this year! I graduated from the University of Minnesota in May with a major in Political Science and a minor in Chicano and Latino Studies. As a first-generation, low-income, Chicana, I know firsthand the difficulties that come with navigating the world of higher education. While there was a TRIO Upward Bound program offered at my high school in South Saint Paul, Minnesota I, unfortunately, didn’t utilize it. Looking back, I realize how much I really would have benefited from joining TRIO. However, I am overjoyed that I am now in a position where I can help students that are just like me when I was in high school!
In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family, play with my dog (a bulldog lab mix named Bear), check out new restaurants, and sing! So, if you have or need any recommendations for good restaurants and/or dog parks let me know!
STRENGTHS: Activator, Communication, Competition, Harmony, Achiever
