Hello!
My name is Ms. Barraza, I have been teaching at Stagg High School since 2023. I graduated from CSU Fresno with a Bachelors in Science for Agriculture Education. I also completed my credential program at Fresno State. I teach the Agriscience courses which include:
Biology and Sustainable Agriculture
Chemistry and Agriscience
Advanced Interdisciplinary Agriscience
The Agriscience courses also fulfill students' A-G graduation requirements for a Laboratory Science.
I am also one of the 5 FFA Advisors on campus. I currently have a Soil and Land Evaluation CDE team, coach The Creed LDE Speaking Competition and advise students who raise Hogs for the San Joaquin Agfest.
Students in Biology and Sustainable Ag and Chemistry and Agriscience have the opportunity to participate in SLEWS which is Student and Landowner Education and Watershed Stewardship Program, which encourages high-school students to dig into habitat restoration through real projects.
This past school year we were at Vino Farms, where students were able to participate in planting native plants and learning about the importance of restoration work for local farms.
