Clara Harlowe Barton was born on December 25, 1821 in North Oxford, Massachusetts. Clara Barton was A Civil War Nurse and was the founder of the Red Cross.
Clara's Childhood
As a child Clara Barton was home schooled and was very shy. When she was 4 years old she finally went to school were she struggled with her own work. Her sibling were always busy helping young Clara with her work and answering questions for her.
Accomplishments
On May 21, 1881 Clara Barton Found The American Red Cross. After finding the Red Cross she became the president 23 years and retired in 1904.
Later Years
Clara Barton died on April 12 ,1912.

Daughter of Stephen Barton and Sarah Stone Barton (sister of 4 siblings)
She loved helping people and loved her favorite sister (Sarah Sally Barton Vassall)
She feared that there would be too many injured soldiers, her “Red Cross” business would fail, and failing to save a soldiers life
Founded “American Red Cross” and saved Civil War soldiers lives
She wanted to see healthy soldiers, experience saving someone's life, and wanted to see her foundation help people
Born in North Oxford, Massachusetts and lived her later years in Maryland
