About Me

My name is Chris Bates and I have the privilege of teaching students.  I was born in and grew up in Stockton, attending Kennedy Elementary and Commodore, and have had a desire to serve the parents and students of my hometown since I attended Stagg High School.  I am married to my beautiful wife and have two wonderful children :D

I attended University of the Pacific in 2005, after graduating from Stagg, and earned my B.A. in Mathematics and teaching credential in 2009-2010.  I have been working with students, either through tutoring or after school programs throughout my college years and then began teaching for SUSD in 2010.  I started teaching math in high school, at Pacific Law Academy and at Weber Institute, and then joined Commodore in the 2014-2015 school year.

After being at Commodore, I have come to realize that we have THE BEST students!  While we may have our ups and downs, this has been the best school I have worked at and I love working with the students and their families.  I would love to communicate with you regarding and questions or concerns you may have, so please be sure to reach out through Class Dojo or by email (cbates@stocktonusd.net) :D
