-Financially ruined by the Panic of 1837

-Became the headmistress of the Canajoharie Academy in 1848

-Helped pass the 19th Amendment

-Lived in hotels before settling in with her sister Mary in 1891
-In 1893, Anthony initiated the Rochester branch of the Women's Educational and Industrial Union
-Celebrated her 80th birthday in the White house invited by President William McKinley
-Died at 86 of heart failure and pneumonia in New York
