Brief history of Iowa
In 1812 Iowa was a part of the Missouri territory. When the Indians got kicked out in 1830's there was a lot of land and the residents grew. The U.S. Congress established that the land was Iowas in 1838. On December 28, 1864 Iowa became a part of the union and was admitted as the 29th state. The first capital was iowa city but then they changed it to Des Moines.
