History of New Jersey before it became a state? In 1609, an English Sea Explorer named Henry Hudson, who had first claimed the behalf and renamed it, "New Netherlands." He had named the state New Netherlands because he worked for the Netherlands, he had claimed this land for the Dutch.

I liked learning about New Jersey because... I love beaches and I love going swimming and New Jersey is known for their beautiful beaches and board walks. Hopefully one day I will be able to come and enjoy Atlantic City, and Jersey City.
The most interesting fact I learned about New Jersey was... that New Jersey is home to the world's longest board walk and that the first ever organized baseball game was played in 1846 in Hoboken.
Reasons why someone should visit New Jersey? New Jersey has beautiful beach boardwalks and beautiful buildings. There are a lot of things to explore in New Jersey which is yet to be seen by many others. New Jersey is a peaceful place to be and is also very well liked by travelers.
