Footings
Stocks Fence does not set fence posts in dry concrete. We use wet-mixed concrete poured into a prepared post hole. Post holes are sized to support sideways pressure applied to your fence against your soil type.
Posts
Before delivery, we hand sort every post and remove any that fall outside our stringent criteria. We search for perfect wood grain, perfect corners, and uniform appearance across the project. As of November 2023, we refuse over 60% of posts that are graded #2 by the saw mills.
Rails
The horizontal rails are the weakest link of a wooden fence panel, especially where they attach to the posts. Our connection is designed with two large screws installed with carefully sized pilot holes. This approach minimizes the chance of splitting while boosting the overall strength. Wooden rails are subject to refusal for the same reasons above.
Pickets
Fence pickets are available in a huge range of species, size, and finish. We select only the best materials to ensure perfect aesthetics and structural integrity.
Gates
Beginning January 2023, we now offer frames standard for all wooden gates. Our welded steel frames prevent sagging, period! A robust frame integrates the hinges, wood, and latch into a single unit. This frame ensures a lifetime of easy use on every gate.
