Science: Our 4th Graders learned about what it means for our brains, nerves, and muscles to work together! We investigated how our brain and muscles communicate with one another through our nerves through testing our reflexes in a fun lab!

SS: On Thursday, our class wrapped up our lesson on the Columbian Exchange. To learn more about this, the 4th Graders participated in a mock version of the Columbian Exchange, learning how to trade with other 'explorers' from other countries while discovering the types of sicknesses that were traded when the trading of goods occurred as well.

Grammar: We love making our grammar lessons interactive and giving students opportunities to take control of their learning! Today, we learned about compound predicates - another way of saying two verbs that are doneby the same subject.
Religion: After serving 4th Grade All School Mass, the 4th through 8th Graders took the time to pray the Rosary together. We used what we knew from our lesson in Religion to apply our skills of praying the Rosary!

We discussed the different mysteries, their significance, and how we can utilize a rosary in our daily lives. Our class used Fruit Loops to make our own versions of edible Rosaries!

Our meteorologists presented their news reports to other SNS students from other grade levels live from the dry, polar, and tropical climate zones!

Using the science vocabulary words we learned in this unit, we discovered that the retina is the part of our eyes that absorbs light and communicates information to the brain. Using magnifying glasses, our eyeball templates, and the sunlight, we watched how the amount of light going through our pupils effects the amount of information our retina processes!

Changing Our Learning Space: One of Ms. De Leon's favorite things to do with nice weather is give our students a change of learning space! 4th Graders brought their blankets outside to complete one of their back to school activities as a class.
Buddy Party: 4th Grade is an exciting year for our students as this is the first year that they officially become the older buddies. This afternoon, we met up with our younger Church buddies, the 2nd Grade class!

SNS Tour: Today, our students learned the behavioral and academic expectations of how we function as a team in 4th Grade. When taking a tour of SNS, we stopped outside for a fun class photo!
