Welcome to Our Ministry ~ At the heart❤️of our Spiritual Adoption Ministry is a profound commitment to the sanctity of life and the power of prayer.
To help stop the anti-life culture of our times, the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen encouraged the spiritual adoption of an unborn child. This is done by praying that one particular, but unknown, child's life be spared from abortion and allowed to live. You choose the child's name and insert it in your daily prayer (below).
What is Spiritual Adoption? Spiritual adoption is interceding for a baby who is in danger of being aborted and for that baby's parents and family who are dealing with this very difficult decision and situation.
Why do we do this? Because prayer works! This is much like praying for the souls in Purgatory. We do not know the people who benefit from our prayers and sacrifices; we simply know that someone does.
Every day, over 4,000 innocent lives are lost to abortion. They have no voice, no defense. Only God can end this tragedy—and prayer is our most powerful weapon. Please pray every day for nine months (February - October) to save a baby's life!
Is there a specific prayer? We provide you this prayer written by Archbishop Fulton Sheen, but you can use your own prayer too.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby [baby's name] that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.
~Prayer of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
Will I be assigned a specific baby or couple for whom I should pray? No, we never know exactly for whom we are praying. We leave that to God who knows the needs. We simply offer our prayers and daily sacrifices for the baby and family that the Lord has in mind.
Do I need to sign up? No, but we are asking you to please register your adopted baby's name below so we can see the collective power of prayer at work within our parish community of faith.
Why do I need to name my baby? Every personal relationship begins by introducing yourself. By naming your spiritually adopted baby you strengthen your personal relationship & commitment to pray for them, and you are acknowledging their humanity.
What's next? Simply begin praying and offering daily sacrifices. Once a month, you will see Parish Family 52 reminders posted and hear announcements about where the spiritual adopted babies are in their fetal development for encouragement to keep praying.
We invite you to join us in spreading the word about our ministry's spiritual journey that supports and nurtures unborn children and their families, offering them hope and love through intercessory prayer. We warmly invite all individuals, families, and groups to participate in this ministry, strengthening the bonds of our community through shared faith and love. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of many, one prayer at a time.
