Meet the Teacher

I am very excited to be starting my first year at St. Thomas More ! This will be my sixteenth year working in the field of education. During that time, I have been both a classroom and reading intervention teacher for students in grades K-8. I am originally from Michigan, but have lived in Houston most of my life. I moved to California for a year and while I was there, I worked for the Mill Valley School District as a K-3 reading/math specialist.

I attended college at the University of Houston where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies. I am state certified in the following areas:

• Elementary Early Childhood Education Grades (PK-6)
• Elementary English Grades (1-8)
• Elementary Self-Contained (1-8)

Additionally, I have over 90 hours of training from Neuhaus Education Center in research-based strategies designed to teach reading, writing, and spelling.
