CONTINUITY OF LEARNING PLAN

The St. Thomas More Parish School Continuity of Learning Plan is intended to lay out how learning will continue in the case of school closure due to weather-related, health-related, or other disruptive school closures. If the campus closes, parents will be notified immediately via email and the plan will be put into place. The goal is to put a plan for distance learning into place within 24 hours of a closure. The distance learning plan provides for directives on how each grade level will be communicating with parents, providing instruction and assignments, and assessing assignments.

We understand that the transition to distance learning may not be a simple process. Our teachers will need new procedures for communicating with students and parents, providing meaningful instruction, assessment, and feedback, and ensuring the high standards of STM are met. Parents will need to create structures and routines that allow their students to be successful and learn how to monitor and support their children's learning. The teachers and administration will be available to help in any way possible.

To provide structure for learning at home, a Distance Learning Kit will be activated on the St. Thomas More website - https://www.stthomasmore-school.org/. This kit will contain messages from administration, grade level/subject area schedules and information, and many resources curated for each *specific school closure event. It will also contain resources for parents on how to set up an appropriate learning environment at home and how to use the digital resources their children will be accessing during this time. Information will be updated as often as necessary and students and parents alike are encouraged to check the site on a daily basis.

St. Thomas More will remain true to our original plans for instruction as much as possible. While this will require teachers to stretch and think outside of the box, there are many resources that are already being used and can transition easily to digital/distance learning. Schools will receive guidance on platforms to ease this transition and make it accessible to families and students. We will determine our plan for instruction while abiding by the TCCB-ED guidelines. These plans will take into consideration the drastic changes and uncertainty students are encountering. School has always been a constant for our students and we will strive to retain that consistency.
