These games are all helpful with language and communication.
Crazy Eights
Deal each player seven cards.
Use the remainder of the cards to form a draw pile in the middle of the game.
Put the first card in the draw pile face up.
The first player to the left of the dealer must match that card’s value or suit, for example, if the middle pile is showing a Jack of Hearts card, the player to the left must draw a Jack or a Heart card!
If the player is unable to do so, they must draw another card from the middle until they find a matching one.
If players have an 8 card, they can use it to pick or change the current suit of the game.
The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the game!
Donkey
Remove one of the Kings (or Queen/Jack) from the deck of playing cards.
Deal all cards face-down to each player.
If players have pairs of matching cards, they should put them face-up for everyone to see.
If a player has three matching cards, only put down one pair and keep the spare card.
If a player has four matching cards, put down two pairs.
Players with matching cards should offer their cards to the player on the left.
The player on the left should then choose a random card from their friend’s pairs.
If the player on the left picks a card which matches what they already have, they have to put down the pair for everyone to see.
If they don’t choose a matching card from their friend, they have to keep it in their hand and offer it to the next player to the left.
This rotation will continue until all cards have been put down in pairs except the Donkey (the King) which is left alone and can’t be paired.
The person left holding the Donkey loses the game!
Cheat
The cards should be dealt out evenly to all players. Put all remaining cards face down in the center of the playing table as the beginning of the discard pile.
The game will begin with the player who is left to the dealer – they must place an Ace in their hand face-down in the center pile and announce their play as “One Ace.”
If the player does not have any Aces, he must “cheat” and play non-Ace cards while announcing.
If a player doesn’t believe the “cheat”, they can call “cheat!” and the person who placed down their bluff card must show whether they were lying or not.
If a player incorrectly blames another player for cheating, they must pick up the entire center pile.
Players who are caught cheating must pick up the entire center pile and add it to their deck of cards.
The person who is left without any cards wins the game.

Hi Low
Remove all the face cards from the deck. To play the game, deal cards equally between the two players.
The game starts with each player drawing two cards from their respective piles and keeping the cards face-up for everyone to see.
The task is to add (or subtract) the number values on the card and come up with the answer. The player with the higher (lower) score gets to keep all the cards dealt in a separate pile.
The game goes on till all the cards are finished. The one who gets most cards in the end is the winner.
Break at 36
Deal all the cards equally between the players. All aces are worth 1; face cards, jokers and tens are worth 0. The first player picks a card and places it in the center.
The next player places a card on top of the first card and calls out the total sum of both the cards.
The game continues till the total of 36 or above is reached. The player to put the last card that takes the sum to 36 or above gets to keep all the cards in a separate pile. (You can change this number to be any number you want).
Play continues till one player runs out of cards. The winner is the player with maximum cards in the separate pile at the end of the game.
Pyramid
First, remove all face cards (except Ace, which will represent the number one) and jokers and shuffle well. Then arrange your cards into a Pyramid with 6 rows with each row slightly overlapping the previous row. Place remaining cards in a deck, face down, off to the side.
The goal is to remove cards in the pyramid by “making ten” with two cards. (Or removing a ten card, as it is already equal to ten). However, you can only remove cards that are completely uncovered. Therefore, at the start of the game, you can only use the bottom row of the pyramid to make ten.
If you cannot make 10 from cards exposed, draw a card from the deck until you can.
Play until you can no longer make 10. Add up the cards left and that is your score. Try to beat your best score or play against someone else!

Simple Yahtzee
Each player writes the numbers 2-12 on a piece of paper.
On each turn, a student rolls two dice cubes and adds the two numbers. They cross that sum off their sheet, and the next player goes.
If the number has already been crossed off, they simply pass the cubes on.
The goal is to be the first to cross off all the numbers, 2-12. (Play with 3 dice to make it more challenging).
Place Value
Roll 3 dice and make a three-digit number.
Pass the dice to the next person and they do the same thing.
Whoever made the largest number wins the round.
Going to Boston
A player rolls three dice at once, then sets the highest die aside. Roll the remaining two, and again set aside the highest. Roll the last die, then add all three together.
Each player takes a turn doing this, with the highest score winning the round. Play to a set number of rounds, or see who can get to a designated number like 100 first.
Rolls to 6
Each player takes a die and starts to roll.
When a player rolls a one, they then begin rolling to try to get a two, then a three.
They continue until one player has rolled one through six.
Pig
Roll the dice and add the sums, repeating as many times as they like on each turn.
However, if they roll a one, their turn ends, and they lose all the points for that turn.
