My Process:
First, Ms. Plant & Mr. Capone ordered materials from amazon. Then, I additionally went around my house and asked my family if they had any broken jewelry they didn’t want. I also looked for things that could be cleaned and reused (like bottle caps, tabs, paper, etc.)
I sorted the items by material and color and planned different bracelet designs based on what I had available.
I experimented with different style. Some turned out really cute, others were kinda flops, but I learned from each one.
Once I made enough bracelets, I handed them out to some classmates and teachers and explained the meaning behind them. I also asked for feedback about the designs and the message.
Artifacts Created:
A full recycled bracelet collection
Posters with facts about recycling and sustainability
Tag labels for each bracelet with QR codes that link to facts or fun recycling tips
A Google Slides deck I shared with my class to explain the project and encourage them to make their own sustainable crafts!
