COSTUMING - All Classes

3rd August 2022

Dear Parents / Caregivers,

As you are hopefully aware our entire school will be performing as part of our biannual school show. This year’s show is Little Red Rocking Hood.

I have begun working with all students and classes as well as the main characters to learn scripts, dancing and acting, alongside the musical director with the music and songs.

Main Characters Costumes:

All main characters including the extra Jazz Dancers and Rock N Roll dance groups will have costumes sourced for the show. (However, they may be asked to find a part of it from home). More details to follow in the next few weeks.

All classes:

We will be asking students alongside their parents to find the outfits/costume requirements as outlined below.

We understand that this may be difficult for some students so please contact me directly if this affects you and your family. janet@stmarysrotorua.school.nz

We do not expect you to go out and purchase costumes, just see what you can find at home / borrow from a friend etc.

Once you have found an option for your child’s costume, please keep it safe for a few weeks and then put it in a named bag and bring it to school to give to your class teacher in WEEK 8. This way we can check everyone has a costume and have them all ready to go for Week 9 Rehearsals and Week 10’s shows.

Class Costume Requirements (Parents to supply from home)

Room 1,Room 2 Room 3, Room 4 & Room 5

Plain White T-Shirt / Shirt or Top

GIRLS: Any coloured knee length Skirt (No tight mini skirts)

BOYS: Any plain BLACK or NAVY BLUE pants, jeans or track pants.

SCARVES (-Girls/ TIES - Boys) THESE WILL BE SUPPLIED BY THE SCHOOL

In a different colour for each class to unite them.

Blue Suede Shoes Dance - We may provide blue socks for this dance. TBC

Room 12, Room 14, Room 15, Room 16 & Room 17

Plain White T-Shirt / Shirt or Top
