Welcome to SMA Summer Math Acceleration- Middle/High School!

This site was created to provide returning and new Maryites, in grades 6 - 12, access to Summer Math Acceleration resources during the summer months.

SMA Summer Math Acceleration resources will help Maryites’ hone in on their math skills through the summer break by reinforcing perviously mastered and introducing a few new math topics for the upcoming school year.

• 2022 Math Summer Packets (6-12) - Grade Level Math Packets created to support keeping math skills sharp, it is recommended that approximately one independent practice page be completed each week during the summer break. Working through the packet at a steady pace throughout the summer will help each Maryite keep the necessary math skills at their peak and reduce the risk of having to complete all at one time.

• Show all work on the packet and if necessary, in a 1-subject notebook that will be reviewed along with the packet at the time of submission.

• Calculators are permitted where applicable.

• The summer math packets are required and will be due the first week of school in August. Every Maryite will receive credit for their work as identified in the PACKET RUBRIC.

Paper packets were distributed to each Maryite on the last day of school. If there is a need for a replacement packet, follow the correct link to access a printable version of the summer math packet that is appropriate for your 2022-2023 math course.

• ACT/SAT College Prep - St. Mary's Academy is a college preparatory High School with a 100% college acceptance rate. Maryites The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT gauge readiness for college and the scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships.The ACT qualifying scores for Louisiana students in 2022 are: TOPS Tech – 17 or the silver level score on the assessments of the ACT WorkKeys system TOPS Opportunity – 20 TOPS Performance - 23 TOPS Honors - 27. • SMA Calculator Requirements - When applicable, all Maryites must have access to calculators that meet the minimum calculator requirements during the administration state and national standardized tests. Maryites are to have home access to calculators that are similar to those used during classroom instruction during each school year.
