MOLLIE: WHAT IS THE THEME OF YOUR PORTFOLIO?
ADDIE: It is how losing things affects people. I am communicating what is being lost and how it affects different people.

MOLLIE: WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CHOOSE THIS THEME?
ADDIE: Well, I listed out different possible theme ideas, and then I listed different pieces that could come from those theme ideas. This one was one of the ones which had most of the greatest amount of piece ideas. Also, my grandmother has dementia and I wanted to do a piece for that.

MOLLIE: WHAT IS THE MESSAGE YOU WANT TO CONVEY WITH YOUR ART TO YOUR VIEWERS?
ADDIE: I mean, just how lost things affect people, really, like, just how it affects what they look like, how they act, and what not.
MOLLIE: WHAT HAS BEEN THE HARDEST PART OF YOUR PORTFOLIO SO FAR, AND HOW DID YOU WORK THROUGH IT?
ADDIE: It's probably been using different techniques, like different medias, because I don't really know how to use a lot of them. Like water coloror, I did figure it out, but it was really hard to learn how to do that, and I'm not very good with acrylic so that's been another one. Also, just figuring out how to set up the piece is hard; like the composition and making sure people are able to understand the message I’m trying to covey. A lot of the time I'll just ask people around me like, “Hey, does this make sense? Will you understand this if it's up on the wall?” And then for the techniques that I don't know how to do, I look up a lot of YouTube videos or ask Mrs. Fletcher.

MOLLIE: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WANTING TO TAKE AP ART IN THE FUTURE?
ADDIE: I would recommend starting in the semester before you're gonna take it and start making pieces because I personally am a very slow art maker. I need a lot of time for each piece, and it's been really helpful to have some already done so I'm not rushing to complete stuff.

MOLLIE: WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON OR PLANNING TO CREATE?
ADDIE: I am currently working on a piece that is about my grandmother with dementia. It is of her and her head has balloons floating out of it, like her memory is floating away and she's losing her memories.
