Scientific Concepts :-
An object's center of gravity is the point where the weight is even on all sides. For an evenly shaped object, like a ball or ruler, the center of gravity would be at the middle of the object. For unevenly shaped objects, like you and I, the center of gravity is not quite at the center. The top half of our bodies weighs more than the bottom half, so our center of gravity would be a little above the waist.
The center of gravity is what keeps everything balanced, and keeps us from falling over. Let's say you place a bowl of cereal on the counter, but some of the bowl is hanging over the edge. If most of the bowl is hanging over the edge of the counter, the bowl will fall to the floor. That's because the bowl was off its center of gravity.
Dancing Stick Man
This Stick Man is essentially a balancing toy which is made by gluing or stapling a few ice cream sticks. The stickman's legs are weighted down with magnets. This lowers its center of gravity and makes it stable. Place it on a stand and it will balance. Tap this acrobatic to see it spin and dance.
