Denmark Udveksle Program
OKTOBER '24
This was the moment we had all been eagerly waiting for—the opportunity to welcome 26 Danish students along with their three teachers. Their 7-day journey was filled with enriching experiences such as the Delhi Darshan with our own History expert Vaishali ma’am , a visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra with our very own insightful Rashmi ma’am, an inspiring visit to the Missionaries of Charity with Abhilasha ma’am, a lively Dandiya dance session with much talented Poonam ma’am, a tie-and-dye workshop with our proficient Krushna sir and Tehmeena ma’am, a successful team building and circle time activity organised by Rajini ma'am and Gunjan ma'am and also classroom observations. Everything went smoothly, thanks to the tireless efforts of my wonderful colleagues, who truly deserve a round of applause.
The last day was filled with even more memorable moments during our visit to Connaught Place and Janpath. Our Danish guests, especially the teachers, thoroughly enjoyed their meal along with Alisha ma'am at Kake da Dhaba, a true taste of local cuisine. Later, at around 8 p.m, we left for the airport, where it was time to say goodbye. The farewell was bittersweet, but it came with a promise to meet again for the upcoming exchange in April or May '25.
I am pleased to report that all of our guests reached Denmark safely, and I received a message from them expressing their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the memorable time they had.
Last but not least, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude—not just to a few but to everyone involved. From Hema ma'am , Mamta ma'am who organized the food so meticulously, to Alisha and Jose sir, who took care of the daily schedules, and of course, Koshi ma'am, who was constantly keeping an eye on every detail. From the warm welcome to even the smallest moments like fish-tasting, where she humorously said, "Thoda oil kam karo, bhai!"—she was truly involved in every aspect. Archana ma'am brought some tasty idlis for breakfast ( for Danish teachers) , while Vaishali Ma'am gave them a glimpse of Ramleela. A well-spent evening with Jose Sir and Alisha ma'am ending with a fruitful promise to return again.
" I hope I haven't forgotten anyone; if I have, please forgive me. Any work, whether in the school or outside, would be impossible without our support staff, so a heartfelt thanks to them as well.
A heartfelt gratitude to Annie Koshi ma'am for giving me the opportunity to expand my horizons, and to all my friends and colleagues who supported me every step of the way, always encouraging me with, "Shelly, we know you can do it!" Thank you all for being my pillar of strength .
Regards
Shelly
