Alumni Interaction Session on the topic “Inspiring Resilience and Career Excellence" on 11th February 2026
The Department of Commerce organized an Alumni Interaction Session on the topic “Inspiring Resilience and Career Excellence" on 11th February 2026 by our alumnus Mr. Ataaullah Shaik a proud alumnus of the 2015-2018 batch. Currently serving as a Growth Account Manager at DigitalOcean.
An expert talk on “Emerging Trends in Cyber Security – Safeties & Career Perspective” for B.Com (CA) students of Semesters IV and VI on 15th December 26. The session was delivered by Wing Commander (Retd.) Garigipati Srinivasu, who brought rich experience from the defense sector and cyber security domain. The speaker discussed the growing importance of cyber security in today’s digitally driven world, highlighting threats. Special emphasis was laid on cyber safety practices for students, professionals, and organizations. The session also provided valuable insights into career paths in cyber security, required skill sets, and emerging job roles, motivating students to consider cyber security as a promising career option.

The Department of Commerce celebrated the commemoration day of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam on the 26th July 2024. It was held to honor and remember significant events & milestones of Dr Abdul Kalam. The event was held to preserve history, educate the students about the contributions of Dr Kalam in the field of science. The students gave presentations on the life & history of Dr Kalam.
"Bank Literacy" on 16th and 17th October 2024
Equal opportunity cell organized "Bank Literacy" sessions for two days on 16-10-2024 and 18-10-2024 to provide opportunity to sub staff to know how to fill withdrawal form and money deposit form in bank. 20 Substaff actively participated in the event and learnt to fill withdrawal and money deposit form and also learnt to write their names in english.

World Intellectual Property Day on 26th April 24
The Department of Commerce organized two activities to raise awareness about intellectual property rights and highlight the theme of sustainable development goals. The event emphasized on intellectual property rights and their significance in fostering innovation and creativity with presentations & quizzes for the participants wherein , they explained the concept of intellectual property and its different forms, such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets along with quiz activity.
Student workshop on "Search Engine Optimisation"on 18th March 24
The Department of Commerce conducted a workshop on Digital Marketing Metric – Search Engine Optimisation on the 18th of March 2024 for all the students of B.Com Programme, in collaboration with ADX Anagram a digital consultancy firm co-founded by an alumnus of St, Mary’s from the batch 2010-2013. The speakers for the session were Mr. Srisailam, Senior Digital Marketer and Mr. Abhinay, Senior Full Stack Web Developer both from ACE Web Academy. The speakers elaborated the fundamentals of Digital Marketing, concepts and technicalities of SEO, the relevance of Keyword search, content creation and website developing and visibility. The students found the practical examples quoted by the speakers very helpful in understanding the concept of SEO well. They appreciated and enjoyed the session.
Social-outreach activity - visit to Nertaji Primary School on 20th Feb 24 & 21st March 24
Mr. M. Bikshapathi and Ms. Harini, faculty from Department of Commerce along with six B.Com First year students visited ‘Netaji Primary Government School’ located at Borabanda, Hyderabad as an initiative for Social Outreach Programme on behalf of Department of Commerce.
GMR Aviation Academy- Industrial Visit on 29th Jan 24
The Department of Sciences in collaboration with Department of Commerce arranged and industrial visit to GMR Aviation Academy as part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) established between our institution and ISAC. GMR Aviation Academy, a leading institution in the aviation sector, is known for its state-of-the-art facilities and comprehensive training programs. The academy plays a pivotal role in shaping the careers of aspiring aviation professionals by offering courses in various disciplines, including pilot training, air traffic control, and aircraft maintenance.

Department of Commerce in collaboration with Department of Sciences have organized a session to provide comprehensive career guidance for degree students aspiring to pursue a career in aviation.
Alumni Interaction on “Digital Marketing as Career - Skill set required” on 15th January, 2024
The Department of Commerce organized an Alumni Interaction session on the topic “Digital Marketing as Career - Skill set required” on the 15th February, 2024 for all the students of B.Com SEM I (Computers Applications & Business Analytics) & Sem IV (General/Advertising). The session was taken by Mr. Mustafa from 2015-2018 batch of B. Com(General). He is currently working as a free-lance Digital Marketer and deals with clients from India and UK. He spoke about the various job roles which students can choose in the field of Digital Marketing. He also elaborated on job description of each role and skills which the students need to possess for such job. He also suggested a few tools which can be used by the students for content creation.

Jashn-e-Mary's -23 (Inter collegiate fest for students of intermediate and 12th)
Coordinated Inter collegiate fest for students of Intermediate and 12th conducted on 25th November 23. Jashn-e-marys is an cultural and literary fest which attracted students across twin cities. This year we saw a participation of around 300 students from various colleges.
Department of Commerce organised orientation program for the freshers of all B.Com Programmes, on 17th August, 2023. Ms. Gayatri from B.Com (Comp) Sem V has hosted the event.

The Department of Commerce organized an Alumni Interaction on the topic “ Study in Canada – Expectations Vs Reality” on the 25th August, 2023 for all the students of B.Com SEM I (Computers Applications & Business Analytics) & Sem V (General/Computer/Advertising). The session was taken by Ms. Neha Srigiri, an alumnus of batch 2018-2021. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Canada. She spoke about the education system in Canada, the best Universities which can be opted for Masters. She shared her experiences and the challenges she had to face when she started her journey in Canada.
A Guest Lecture was organized in coordination with Dr. Kavitha Thakur on environmental conservation and protection was held on 10th October,2023 by the Department of Commerce for the students. The Speaker of the day was Dr.N. Sai Bhasker Reddy, Director, The Earth Center, Council for Green Revolution (CGR) Hyderabad, addressed the audience emphasizing the urgency of environmental conservation and the role of students and communities in this
endeavour.

The Department of Commerce organized an Alumni Interaction on the topic “Significance of Experiential Learning, Internships & Placements for a Student” on the 21st September, 2023 for all the students of B.Com SEM III & V (General / Computer Applications &Vocational). The session was taken by Mr. Shiva Prasad Reddy, an alumnus of batch 2020-2023. He shared his experiences and the challenges faced by him as a graduate and focused on importance of attendance, Internals and made special emphasis on joining Clubs. He also said Internships are good platform for grooming the students in getting placements.
Career Guidance Session on “Career as Data Analyst” by Mr. Kishore
The Department of Commerce organized an Career Guidance Session on the topic “Career as Data Analyst” on the 22nd September, 2023 for all the students of B.Com SEM III & V (General / Computer Applications/Business Analytics) & B.Sc(MSCS) Sem III. The session was taken by Mr. Kishore Kumar, Founder & CEO Team Excelytics Pvt. Ltd. He emphasised on the relevance of the courses the students need to upgrade themselves to become a Data Analyst, the emerging career opportunities in the field of Data Analytics and further studies in the field.

2019-2020 (June - Dec)
A guest lecture was organized for the students of B.Com final year on 22/7/19. The guest speaker for the session was Ms. Swetha Kabra, a Cost & Management Accountant, a visiting Faculty to many prestigious institutions in the city, Auditor at Vajralingam & Co and a cost accountant at L&T. The session was on the topic “Scope and Relevance of Cost Accounting in Industry” The speaker has focused on how cost accounting came into existence and how MIS was integrated with cost accounting for the process of decision making in the real business world.
The Orientation for First year students of B.Com Generals and Advertising was held on 10.07.2019. The event began with a prayer song of Lord Ganesha. Mr. Mathew George, Principal of the college addressed the students emphasizing on the importance of making memories of college life at the same time not to lose out on the importance and focus on education. Students of B.Com final year presented a small video of the college followed by a speech by the Head of the Department, Ms Deepa Agrawal. The students were introduced to the different activities conducted by the department and discussed the future plans of the department. The freshers were also briefed about various clubs functioning in the college.
The senior students conducted a number of activities like word Block, Addzapp, Standup comedy, Painting, singing and Dance performances for the freshers. The event culminated with a few quirky titles being given away to the freshers from among the crowd.
BCom A,B n E of Sem III had a guest lecture on "Career Guidance" by Mr. Adithya, Career Counselor from IMS. He addressed the students about the opportunities for BCom students with the launch of IMS Guarantee program. The IMS program is an initiative backed by faculty,academicians, counselors and mentors which helps them to be standalone in the market to grab the opportunities. It was a very interactive session wherein students were able to gain knowledge
An orientation session for Certificate Course on Interior Design was taken by Mr. Srinivas, Trainee of Hamstec. The session included the need and importance of Interiors Professionals especially in the area of Interior Designing and the future prospects. Mr. Srinivas also presented a case video along with activity session and stressed upon the fact that the future is all about Colors. The session concluded with details about the course structure and registration guidelines.

As a B.Com General Co-ordinator, played a key role in selecting a perfect team to give a tough competition in Intra college sports day which was scheduled from 14th October, 2019 to 18th October, 2019 under various sports events like Volley Ball, Foot Ball, Basket Ball and Table Tennis without any discipline issues.

Students Field Visit to Dena Bank
On February 4th, 2019 students of B.Com final year C & E as a part of their academics were taken to Dena Bank to get practical exposure about different functions that a bank performs and various forms that a customer has to fill for their banking necessities
“MOOT COURT” -Moot court was organised for the BCom final years on 26th February 2019. Students analysed and solved given case laws from The Indian Contact Act 1872 referring to other relevant Acts of our Country.
“Sarojini Naidu”- The birthday of India's freedom fighter and poet Sarojini Naidu is celebrated as National Women's Day. Sarojini Naidu was born on February 13, 1879. The Department of Commerce paid tribute to the great lady by organizing a Quiz and a poster making competition, the theme being - "A tribute to Sarojini Naidu".
The session involved internship opportunities orientation by the company, 'Mentor Minds' on 28th March 2019 .The internship cum training program offers students the opportunity to work on a project from across diverse companies. The students of both first and second years A & B attended the sessions arranged on consecutive days.
Organized World Radio Day on 13/02/2020. As part of the event “RJ-Hunt”, competition was conducted. Around 90 students attended the event RJ Abhijeetram from Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM was invited as Judge for RJ -Hunt
ALUMNI INTERACTION
The Department of Commerce organized an interactive session on the 1 st of December 2021. The Department had invited Mr. Omer Ahmed Khan Alumni of our college (B.Com Computers 2013-2016) to interact with the present final year students. Mr. Omer is a self-motivated certified digital marketer with strong experience in helping clients with E-Commerce websites to set up Google online shopping and merchant center and strategizing the shopping feeds, campaigns, Google analytics and conversion tracking. He laid emphasis on learning Add on Courses along with B. Com, building good network through LinkedIn and how communication plays a major role in IT sector. The session ended with questions from the audience.

Srinivasu, a NSD Certified Cyber Crime Intervention Officer and Visiting Faculty at Centre for Aerospace and Defence Laws, NALSAR University of Law. The Session covered various aspects of Cyber Security, Challenges with regard to securing data from Hackers, basic awareness individuals/organizations need to have to protect their data from unauthorized access. They also stressed on job opportunities in the field. The speakers made the session interesting by sharing many real-time incidents related to cybercrime. The students were highly interactive and enjoyed the session.
ALUMNI INTERACTION
The Department of Commerce organized an Interactive session on the 22nd of April 2022, by inviting Ms. Rasi Priyanka and Ms.Lakshmi Priya ,the Alumni of our college (B. Com Computers 2019 passed out) to interact with the present final year students. Ms. Rasi Priyanka and Ms. Lakshmi Priya has worked as IT Analyst in HCL Technologies. Ms. Rasi Priyanka has volunteered in Teach for change and participated in Airtel marathon. She was also Awarded as the best outgoing student 2019 batch. Ms. Lakshmi Priya has done her internship with Amazon WFU and volunteered for Airtel Marathon. As a part of the session, both of them laid emphasis on taking Internship’s, Interviews, how to handle work pressure and by learning Add on Courses like Tally, enroll for Company Secretaries, Sales Force Management, Data Science, Data Analytics etc. along with B. Com & also emphasized on building good network through LinkedIn. They also discussed as to how communication & up gradation is the need of the hour & plays a major role in IT & Corporate sector. The Session was very informative as well as interesting & ended with question & answers and doubts clarification.

The Session covered various types of Cyber Threats & Attacks, Challenges with regard to securing data from Hackers, basic awareness individuals need to protect their data from unauthorized access. They also stressed on Internships and job opportunities in the field. The speaker made the session interesting by sharing many real-time incidents related to cybercrime. The students were highly interactive and enjoyed the session.

The Department of Commerce organized an Alumni Interaction on the “Importance of Corporate Etiquettes” on the 15th February, 2023 for all the students of SEM VI,of B.Com (General/Computer/Advertising). The session was taken by Ms. Madhuri Kandepaneni, an alumnus of our college batch 2015-2018. She is currently working at Orica mining services as Deputy Manager-Accounts receivables. The Alumni made the session interesting by sharing many real-time incidents related to her personal experiences in college and in her workplaces. She elaborated on the do’s and dont’s of Corporate Etiquettes. The point’s students need to be mindful of when going for an interview. The students were highly interactive and enjoyed the session.

The session was taken by Mr. Harish Abburu, an alumnus of our college batch 2019-2022. He is currently working as an Intern at Franklin Templeton. He is pursuing MBA (Finance and Analytics). He spoke about importance of research, role of research in student’s life and importance of data analysis tools.
