The Importance of Rest

In this lesson, we described why sleep is beneficial and the positive impact it can have on our lives. The children understood the importance of getting enough sleep, thinking about the impacts a lack of sleep may have on us. Finally, they thought about bedtime routines and gave some useful tips to their peers!

Taking Responsibility for my Feelings

Today, the children were describing a range of feelings and linking this with dilemmas. We spoke in depth about how our actions can affect other people, and the different strategies we can use to manage our feelings.  The children produced their own scenarios and two possible options of how to deal with it.

Healthy Meals 

We have been learning all about calories and what makes a healthy, balanced diet. After identifying the 5 main food groups, we discussed the importance of having a balanced diet and compared different foods. Finally, the children produced their own healthy meal.

Sun Safety

We began the lesson by thinking of the risks of the weather on both individuals and buildings (see pic below). Next, we thought about the importance of staying safe in the sun. We learnt the sun can have a positive impact on our health and wellbeing, as long as we take the appropriate precautions. Remember to slip, slop, slap, seek and slide!
