together shining a light

Welcome Back

Welcome back to the Spring Term! It's a delight to have our school buzzing with energy once again. Even though we've only been back for a couple of days, it has been a vibrant and busy start.

Before we dive into the new term, we want to express our sincere gratitude for all the thoughtful presents and cards we received during the Christmas season. Your generosity and warm wishes added a special touch to the festive season, and we are truly thankful for your kindness.

Over the last couple of days, we've been immersing ourselves in the essence of our school rules - Respectful, Ready, Reflective. We've taken the time to explore what these qualities truly mean within our school and the wider community.

In the spirit of fostering a sense of community and togetherness, we've made a few adjustments to our lunchtime routine. Children are enjoying their meals in their respective houses, seated alongside friends from different year groups as well as their own. This shift aligns seamlessly with our ethos of creating a school family, reinforcing the bonds that tie us together. So far, we have had positive feedback from the children.

Our Year 6 Peer Mediators and House Captains are actively contributing to the smooth operation of the dining room whilst our Year 5 pupils have embraced the responsibility of ensuring the cleanliness of the hall after lunch.

These initiatives underscore our dedication to fostering not only a sense of community but also instilling a sense of responsibility and service in our children. Together, we are shaping compassionate individuals who actively contribute to the wellbeing and day to day organisation of our community.

Here's to a fantastic Spring Term filled with learning, laughter, and shared moments.

Information

Pick-up at the end of the day - Trial

Thank you all for your support in our trial of adapting the end-of-day collection. From our perspective, this adjustment seems to have gone well so far. We're keen to hear your thoughts on how this is working from a parent perspective. Your feedback is invaluable in ensuring that our processes are as smooth and effective as possible.

A reminder that there is no parking on Stockers Farm Road unless you have prior agreement from myself or Mrs Sharp. Your cooperation in adhering to this guideline ensures the safety of our students and maintains a smooth transition at the end of the day.

Parent Workshop - our School Development Plan

Tuesday 16th January - 18:00 and Wednesday 17th January - 09:00.

We are delighted to invite you to a parent workshop where we will explore our three-year development strategy, focusing specifically on this year's plan for our school. To accommodate as many parents as possible, we have scheduled two sessions. Please inform us of your preferred session so that we can provide refreshments. Your participation and insights are highly valued, and we look forward to sharing our exciting plans with you.

Afterschool Clubs

Thank you to everyone for completing the Google Form about afterschool clubs.  We are very excited about providing some additional clubs this term.  We are expecting to be able to share the afterschool club timetable with you later this week for a start from week beginning 22nd January.

Uniform

We appreciate your ongoing support in maintaining a positive and purposeful learning environment. To support this, children need to attend school in the correct uniform, adhering to the following guidelines:

1) Full School Uniform: Children are expected to wear the complete school uniform on standard school days. If your child has an afterschool sports club, your child needs to attend in full school uniform and bring their Sports kit in a bag to change into at the end of the day. Please see below -

2) PE Kit: On days when your child has PE scheduled during the school day, they are permitted to wear their PE kit.

3) Trainers: Trainers are designated for use on PE days only. We kindly ask that they are not worn on regular school days to maintain a professional and uniformed appearance.

4) Hair must be tied back at all times with hairbands that match either the hair colour or black.

5) All clothing should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.

6) Pupils with pierced ears may wear a pair of plain gold or silver stud-earrings. Earrings must not be worn during PE lessons. If they are unable to be taken out, then they will need to be covered by parents at the beginning of the school day. For safety reasons, children must not wear rings, bracelets or necklaces to school. Watches with a clock face are permitted (not iWatches or similar).
