Aspiring, nurturing, flourishing;

Aspiring, nurturing, flourishing;
together shining a light
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you."
John 14:27
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the poignant Remembrance Sunday at St Mary’s Church yesterday.
This morning, Year 6 attended the 11am service where Kezia, Louie, Lottie and Sebastian read aloud the names of local fallen soldiers, paying tribute to their sacrifice. Back at school, the entire school community observed a respectful two-minute silence to honor those who have served and continue to serve.
In the afternoon, Gary led an extended worship for the whole school, reflecting on the importance of remembrance, with support from the Ethos Council. We are grateful for the heartfelt participation and unity shown by all.
There are lots more dates to add to the calendar but we wanted to get these to you as soon as possible to put into your dairies...

Special visit from Arch Deacon Charles
We were delighted to welcome Arch Deacon Charles to St Mary’s C of E Primary School last Thursday!
He led a meaningful collective worship focused on our half term’s value of compassion, inspiring our students to reflect on how they can show kindness and care in their everyday lives.
The Ethos Council had the honour of giving Arch Deacon Charles a tour of our school, and we’re thrilled to share that he was truly blown away by the warmth, spirit, and dedication he saw within our wonderful school community.
Thank you, Arch Deacon Charles, for visiting and for sharing such a thoughtful message with us!
Fireworks
A huge thank you to our FoSMS team and all the volunteers who contributed their time and effort to make our Fireworks Evening a night to remember! We were delighted to see so many members from school and from our wider community to share in the fun, with many praising the event for its wonderful atmosphere.
The children had a fantastic time enjoying the rides and toasting marshmallows, while the adults appreciated the chance to relax with a mulled wine (or two!). The highlight of the night was, of course, the spectacular fireworks display, which wowed everyone once again.
Thank you to everyone who came and made the evening so special!
Beautiful Harmony at St Albans Cathedral

Attendance at school is the foundation of a child's future success and happiness. Over the coming weeks, we will be focusing on a letter from the alphabet in each newsletter to highlight the importance of regular attendance, along with helpful advice for parents and carers. In this newsletter, we are reviewing the A to Z of Attendance so far, emphasizing how each aspect contributes to your child’s overall well-being and progress in school.
O is for On Time – Being on time is essential for a smooth start to the school day. Arriving promptly helps children settle into their routine, ensuring they don’t miss important learning or disrupt others. Teaching the importance of punctuality sets a strong foundation for good habits in the future.
