My name is Leslie Anglesey (she/her), but I answer to many names:
Les
Auntie Sass (a story for another day)
Professor Anglesey
I mostly think of myself as a perpetual learner and educator. As a ‘geriatric millennial,’ I learned the basics of coding on MySpace and composed digital writing before there was a name for it.
My teaching is guided by the belief that the best learning happens through a cycle of trying, failing, trying again, and failing better. It's through this process that students learn to engage thoughtfully and critically across texts, tools, and modalities and to examine the ethical implications of using and consuming information in a digital age.
Names are fascinating, but their pronunciations can be nonintuitive. Use the button below to hear how to pronounce mine.
