Mr. Freeman's Fourth Grade Class

I will be teaching all of the 4th grade subjects, so I am deep into preparing lessons for the start of the school year. Some highlights for each subject this first quarter will include:

● Reading- We will be identifying different strategies that can help comprehension when we read stories. And we will be reading a lot of stories!

● ELA- We will work on grammar and vocabulary. I really want to focus on writing well thought out and complete sentences.

● Math- For the first quarter we study place value and then move onto addition, subtraction and multiplication of one an two digit numbers.

● Religion- We will learn about Jesus and the ten commandments.

● Social Studies- - It’s all about the history of Maryland - I so look forward sharing my love of Maryland’s history with you.

● Science- We will start out with learning about how to Classify Living Things - plants and animals.

We are a Google school, and will be using Google Classroom which will help us all stay organized with assignments. Your student will be invited to join my 4th Grade Google Classroom. Parents and Guardians - please also accept the invite so you may keep tabs on what your student is learning and working on. Grades will be posted in the Plus Portals online gradebook.

Classes will be held on Zoom every day during the scheduled class time. Our Zooms will be safe and respectful spaces. Attendance will be taken, so if there are any issues please do not hesitate to let me know. On the back of this page you will find the schedule that you received earlier this month.
